Tight security in Durga Puja in Bogra

Low enforces have ensured a tight security during Durga Puja, great religious festival of Hindu communities, across in all twelve upazilas including all municipalities in favour of devotee Hindus can observe smooth holding of upcoming worship from their heart without any hassle. Hindu leaders of the area suspected a total 23 puja mondop may be considered as hazardous to perform the festival while government is trying to place a peaceful situation for all cast living in the area.A total 620 puja mondop of the all upazilas will observe through 37 of Dupchanchia,38 of Kahaloo, 68 of Adamdighi, 51 0f Nandigram, 48 0f Shibgonj, 38 0f Sonatola, 19 0f Sariakandi, 79 0f Sherpur, 65 0f Gabtoly, 51 0f Shazahanpur, 250f Dhunat and 101 0f sadar Puja Mandaps (Places where statues for observing Puja are set up) in the district, puja udjjapon source said.
BCL leader injured in factional clash

A leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was injured in a clash between two factions of BCL on Sylhet Engineering College campus in Sylhet city on Sunday night. The injured is Raihan Chowdhury, general secretary of Sylhet district unit of BCL. Witnesses said two rival BCL groups, equipped with firearms and other lethal weapons, locked horns on the campus around 11pm over the announcement of their new Sylhet Engineering College committee. Raihan, who was announcing the newly-formed committee, was injured during the clash. The two groups also vandalised three restaurants in the city’s Tilagarh. Being informed, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Durga Puja begins in Sylhet
Durga Puja, the biggest annual religious festival of the Hindus in Bangladesh, began on Monday across the country Including Sylhet Division.The Maha Shashthhi, the sixth day of the moon when Goddess Durga is welcomed with much fanfare and gusto, will be observed on Monday. It’s the first chapter of the five-day religious extravaganza.
The ‘Bodhon’ (invocation) rituals include the unveiling of the face of the idol. Bodhon, Amontron and Adhibas are the important rituals of Shasthhi apart from Kalparambho – the ritual performed before the commencement of the Puja. The Mohasaptami puja will be held on Tuesday, Mohashtami and Kumari Puja on Wednesday, and Mohanabami Puja and Bijoya Dashami on Thursday.
Jessore-Benapole train service begins
BENAPOLE (Jessore): Direct train service from Jessore to Benapole, introduced to provide a shortcut journey to the travelers, is all set to begin yesterday . The railway authorities decided to introduce the service following long-pressed demand of the people travelling this route, said railway sources. Station Master of Benapole Railway Station Saiduzzaman said the new train named “D-95/96 up-down” will leave the station for Jessore at 10:15am and reach its destination around 11:15am, reports UNB.
Juba Dal leader held in Jhenaidah
JHENAIDAH: Police arrested a local leader of BNP’s youth front Juba Dal from Langalbandh Bazaar area in Shailkupa upazila on Monday. The arrestee was identified as Nayeb Ali,24, president of Shailkupa upazila unit Jubo Dal and son of Abdul Gani Mondal of Khulumbaria village of the upazila. Officer-in-charge of Shailkupa Police Station Hashem Khan said tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Nayeb at night, , reports UNB..
