3 stolen cars seized in Sylhet
Sylhet Correspondent :
Three private cars stolen from Dhaka recently, were seized from a carwash garage at Subidbazar in the city on Monday.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station Sohel Hossain said.A team of Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police recovered the cars at 3:30pm.
SUST admission process begins Oct 13
The admission process for honours courses under the academic year 2015-16 of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) will start on October 13. Prof Mustak Ahmed, member secretary of SUST admission committee, informed it in a press conference where Prof Narayan Saha, president of admission committee, was also present.
RU Chhatra Jote demands retake of medical admission test

Leaders and activists of Progressive Students Alliance (PSA), a platform of four left leaning student’s body of Rajshahi University on Monday demanded retake of medical and dental admission tests alleging question paper leak. They also demanded exemplary punishment to the perpetrators who were involved in question paper leak. Over hundred leaders and activists of PSA brought out a protest procession on campus from in front of the university central library that paraded the main streets of the campus to press home their demands. They also joined at a short rally at the university Tukitaki Chattar. Addressing at rally, speakers alleged that the leaked questions were available on social media the night before the tests.
Two including DB police arrested with Yaba in Barisal

Police arrested two persons including a constable of detective branch of Barisal Metropolitan Police and recovered 50 pieces of Yaba tablets on early Monday. The arrestees were identified as Md. Sumon, a constable of DB of BMP and Altaf Hossain alias Anwar, a drug peddler of Stadium Colony area. Abu Sayeed, assistant commissioner (DB) and spokesman of BMP, acknowledging the facts said arrested Constable Sumon already suspended. Shakhawat Hossain, Kotwali police station officer in charge, said a police team led by Sub Inspector Delwar Hossain raided Hotel Sukhi, a residential boarding at Chawak Bazar area of the city, on early Monday.
National Girl Child Day observed in Faridpur
FARIDPUR: National Girl Child Day was observed here today in a befitting manner through holding rally and discussion meeting.The program was jointly organized by district administration and Women Affairs department. In this connection a discussion meeting was held at the conference room of DC, Faridpur.The discussion was chaired by ADC(Gen) Md. Abdur Rashid was addressed among others by Additional Police Super Md. Quamruzzaman, Women Affairs officer Daulatana Akhtar, BLAST coordinator Advocate Shipra Goshawami and NGO activist Asma Akhtar Mukta, reports BSS.
