Local MP Fahami Golandaz Babel inaugurated the electrification work at the villages Mukhi, Belab, Rishab and Uttorkandi of Gafargaon under Mymensingh on Saturday noon. On the occasion of electrification a function was arranged at Mukhi village. The chief guest Fahami Golandaz Babel MP delivered speech in this function and Mostofa Kamal Moni presided over the function. The chief guest said, the Government is working to supply electricity in every houses of the country. For this purpose four hundred houses of four villages are included to electrification. Electricity connection will be given in every houses in this upazila gradually.Upazila Chairman Ashraf Uddin Badal, General Manager JahangirAlam of Pally Bidyut Samity-2, UP Chairman Salim Ahmmed delivered spoke in the function.
Inception workshop held in BAU

An inception workshop on self-assessment of B.Sc.Ag.Econ(Hons.)Degree Programme was held at BAU AERS Conference Room , Mymensingh on Thursday. The programme was organised by B.Sc.Ag.Econ (Hons.) Degree Programme Self-Assessment Committee (PSAC), Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology, BAU Mymensingh. BAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Md. Afzal Hossain was present chief guest while Prof Dr. Shankar Kumar Raha, Director, Planning and Development, BAU as special guest. Prof Paresh Chandra Modak, Dean Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology presided over the session. Welcome address was delivered by Prof Dr. Md. Idris Ali Mia, Member PSAC. Teachers, officers and students participated in the workshop.
SUST student commits suicide

Ganajagaran Manch activist and student of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Shahrier committed suicide, said autopsy report on Sunday. Quoting the autopsy report, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station Sohel Ahmed said Shahrier Majumdar committed suicide by hanging himself from the window grill of his house,
The OC also said police got the postmortem report of Shahrier on September 11 where the doctors confirmed that he killed self. On September 3, Shahrier Majumdar, an architecture student of SUST, was found hanging with the window grill at his house in Surma Residential Area near the university. Although an unnatural death case was recorded with Kotwali police over the death of Shahrier, many alleged that he was killed in a planned way.
