Senior District and Session Judge Freedom Fighter Mahabub-ul- Islam and TIB Chairman Adv Sultana Kamal attended the meeting as chief and special guests respectively. Adv Gazi Mahmud, President of Manobadhikar Ainjibi Fourm presided over the discussion. It was addressed among others by Special Judge (Women & Children) Md. Awalad Hossain, CJM Abdus Salam, Joint District Judge & Legal Aid Officer Md. Zakir Hossain, District Bar President & P.P Adv Shah Azizul Hoque, Senior Adv Miah Md. LGED motivation meet held at Kishoreganj
Local Government Engineer Department (LGED) organised a motivation meeting on Primary Education Program (PEDP- III) at LGED Bhavon in the town on Thursday noon. Superintendent Engineer of Mymensingh Region Md. Ismail Hossain presided over the meeting. The meeting was attended by District Primary Education Officer, Upazila Engineer, Upazila Education Officer and school headmasters. It was addressed among others by Executive Engineer Golom Moula, Engineer Ismat Kibria, Engineer Mahabubul Alam, Engineer Azizur Rahman, District Primary Education Officer Md. Golom Moula, Upazila Education Officer Abu Taher and Sadar Upazila Engineer Md. Shah Alam.
Train link with Dhaka- Ctg- Sylhet restored after 7- hr

Train communications of Dhaka with Chittagong and Sylhet has been restored after seven and half an hours of suspension following the derailment of a freight train at Jatrapur in Ashuganj upazila on Sunday. Officer-in-charge of Akhaura government railway police said that wheels of two bogies and the engine of a Chittagong-bound freight train from Dhaka veered off the tracks around 10:30 am, halting train movement on the Dhaka- Chittagong and Dhaka-Sylhet routes. However, the train movement was restored around 6:00pm when a relief train from Akhaura removed the bogies and the engine from the tracks
Pvt varsity students stage demo in Sylhet
Students of Leading University and Metropoliton University jointly brought out a procession at Surma point in the Sylhet on Sunday protesting imposition of VAT on their tuition fees. They staged demonstrations in Sylhet demanding immediate withdrawal of 7.5 percent VAT on their tuition fees. Processions were brought out at Surma point, Bondor and other parts of the city. The government imposed a 7.5 percent VAT on tuition fees of students of private universities, medical and engineering colleges.
