Kid killed in Kulaura road crash

A kid was killed in a road accident in Luhaini tea garden area of Kulaura Upazila in the district on Friday. The deceased was identified as Rimon, 10 son of Dudhu Rajbhar of Luhaini tea garden under Kulaura Upazila of the district. Witnesses said, a rashly driven driver uncontrolled the Truck hit him when kids cross the road under Moulvibazar-Kulaura. On spot him dead.Office-in-charge of Kulaura Police station Md Hasanuzaman said, it was the drivers’ negligence.
Youth hurt in BSF firing at Kulaura
A Bangladeshi youth was injured as Indian Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire on him on Chatlapur border in Kulaura upazila of the district on Friday . The man was identified as Joynal Abedin, 22, son of Ferdous Miah of Horipur village in the upazila. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Subedar Abdur Rahman said a patrol team of BSF from Chatlapur camp opened fire him when he into the India on a group of including, leaving him injured. Joynal to a safe place and his family later admitted him to Kamalganj Health complex.
Folk festival held in Jhenidah

Targeting a slogan “Fiye cholo matir tanye” (Let us return to our soil), a day-long folk festival was held at remote Berashola village under Jhenidah sadar upazila on Saturday. The daylong programme was arranged with the assistance of cable operators association of Bangladesh (COAB) Jhenidah district unit like past years. Ruarl women initiated the programme through the local folk songs. The rural men had performed traditional Benagli songs Bhatially and Bhawaiya. Go as you like, breaking of earth pots, Hadudu game, lathi khela, pillow magic, drama and other programmes were chalked out to mark the rural festival. The artistes of Jhenidah Natya Academy had performed drama and songs. Assistant professor of government Nurun Nahar Women’s college Ehteshamul Haque Notun, chairperson and chief executive of non-governmental organization AIUD Tarikul Islam Palash, COAB central member Hasanuzzamaan Khoko and organizer of the programme Ishawue Ali among others spoke. The speakers urged upon the new generation to bring back the old and traditional days through practicing the heritage of Bengal to build a traditional nation.
Boy crushed under trolly’s wheels Chapainawabganj Correspondent
A boy was killed as he was crushed under the wheels of a trolly at Bhabanipur Kanabazar under Monakasha union of Shibganj upazila of the district on Sunday.The deceased was identified as Sagar Chandra Shill, 10, son of Bhulu Chandra Shill of Sahapara under the same union.SI Mohammad Ali of Shibganj thana said, as Sagar was standing beside the road inclining against a wall near Bhabanipur Government Primary School, a trolly crushed him killing him on the spot at around 11 am. Sagar was a student of class four of Bhabanipur Government Primary School.
