Netrakona District Administration has hosted an Iftar party for the blind, dumb and disable students of different local educational institutions including blind and dumb schools and floating people at local circuit house on Monday evening. Dr Torun Kanti Shikder, DC, Netrakona , Anwar Hussain Akand,Additional District Magistrate, Dr. Abdur Rahim, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen) and other senior officers of the district administration were present in the Iftar. They cordially welcomed these students and floating people at the hall room of the circuit house and extended hospitality to them by taking Iftar with them. Dr. Shikder, DC also frankly talked to them and inquired their condition and assured them of all possible help on behalf of the government. Earlier, a special prayer was offered there seeking blessings of Almighty Allah for progress and prosperity of the nation and continued peace and welfare of the mankind.
3 hijackers arrested in Bagerhat

Angry villagers caught 3 hijackers and handed them over to the police after giving them a mass beating at Palbari area near C&B Bazar under Bagerhat Sadar Upazila on Monday morning . The arrested hijackers are identified as Robi Shaikh (25), son of one Ali Akbor Shaikh, Milon Shaikh (23), son of one Amir Ali Shaikh and Lyton Chowdhury (28), son of oneAbul Kalam Chowdhury of village Ramnagar under Rupsa Upazila in Khulna district. Police of Bagerhat Model PS seized a big knife locally known as Hansua and a Bajaj motor cycle used in the hijacking purpose by the hijackers. Md Tozammel Haq. Officer-in-charge of Bagerhat Model PS said that on the day in the morning Kamrul Islam, a businessman of village Sadullapur under Bagerhat Sadar Upazila was going to Katakhali under Fakirhat Upazila in the district by a hired motor cycle as its co-rider and when he reached Palpara area (near C&B bazar) on Bagerhat-Khulna Highway a gang of hijackers appeared there, stopped the motor cycle, beat him and the motor cyclist severely, snatched away a sum of cash Tk.51 thousand 3 hundred from the businessman and fled away.
Rain disrupts normal life in Sylhet city

Heavy rain triggered by monsoon lashed many parts of the Sylhet on Wednesday, leaving the normal life in disarray. Many areas, where water stagnation is a perennial problem, of the city, including Station road, Lawai, Kujar Kola, Gotatikor and City Market, went under knee-deep water due to the downpour. The rain that began in the morning flooded many of the city streets while Eid shoppers underwent unbearable sufferings for unavailability of vehicles. People in many areas had to wade through the water-logged streets.
