4 persons committed suicide in Dupchanchia

 Four persons were committed suicide due to family feud under Dupchanchia upazila of Bogra district recently. The deceased were identified as Sudebi,33, wife of Binoy Kumar Mamudpur village, Jesmin Yasmin,25, wife of Liton Hossain Palipara village, Parvin Sultana,30, daughter of Subhan Hossain Shonarpara village, Shikha Parvin,17, daughter of Mozammel Hossain Amsotto village under Dupchanchia upazila of the district. Police said they have died taking poison in the absence of family members. Officer-in-charge of Dupchanchia police station Riaz Ahmed confirms the incident. Separate unnatural death cases were lodged with the police station in this connection.
College student found dead in Sylhet

A college student was found dead in the city’s Jatarpur area on Tuesday. Police recovered the hanging body of Nazmul Islam, a second-year student of Sylhet Commerce College and son of Elias Miah of the area, in the afternoon. Police said family members found Nazmul hanging from the ceiling and informed them. Later, they recovered the body around 2:00pm and sent it to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue.
Army man injured by police over family dispute

A member of armed forces, was severely injured by beating of a group of police at his home over family feud on Tuesday noon. Injured army-man Mehedi Hasan Soldier no. 4451979, EB-318712) , 26, son of Mirza Abdul Hye and Mirza Khadiza of Jabbar Mia Lane in front of Police Line, now deployed at sixth Bengal Regiment in Chittagong. The victim now admitted at Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital. Mirza Murad, brother of the victim, said Mehedi secretly got married with Sharmin Shila, police constable (batch no. 1095) of Barisal Metropolitan Police (detective branch), few months ago. After marriage Mehedi went to his working place and later informed that his wife allegedly engaged in extramarital affairs with a sub-inspector of police. Recently Mehedi came Barisal on leave to visit his family members and engaged in feud with his wife on her alleged extramarital affairs. On Tuesday morning a police team led by Sub Inspector Delwar coming to the house of Mehedi engaged in altercation, and injured him by mercilessly beating and took Constable Shila with them.
One killed in road mishap

One was killed and two others were injured in a road accident at Basupati village on Lohagara-Jessore road on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Monir Mollah,40, a day labourer in profession and son of Kuddus Mollah of Paikmari village under sadar upazila of the district. The injured two are Riadul Mollah,25, and Saidul Mollah of the same village. They are undergoing treatment at Lohagara Upazila Health Complex. Police and eye witnessed said, the accident occurred on Sunday at about 11 am Monir, Riadul and Saidul were going towards Lohagara riding a motorbike. Suddenly the motorbike collided with an army jeep running towards the same direction leaving the motorbike rider three seriously injured. The army men took them to Lohagara Upazila health Complex and the on duty doctor declared Monir Mollah dead. The army men informed, they were going to Barishal from Jessore Cantonment.
Valuables looted from Tungipara house
Gopalganj: Robbers looted gold ornaments, cash and other valuables worth Tk10 lakh from a house at Patgati village in Tungipara upazila early Wednesday. Police said a gang of armed robbers, numbering 7-8, stormed the house of Rafiqul Alam Nixson at the village at about 3:30am breaking grill and door. Later, the hoodlums took the family members hostage at gunpoint and looted eight tolas of gold ornaments, Tk 1.5 lakh in cash, five mobile phone sets and other valuables from the house and decamped with the booty, reports UNB.
