City BNP leaders Dr. Shariar Hussain Chy, Bodrujjaman Salim, Rajaul Hasan koyes Ludy, Habibur Rahman, Nasim Hussain, Najmul Islam, Ajmul Bakth Sadek, Miftah Siddeke among others, were present.BNP Leaders also distributed cooked food among the destitute in various parts of the capital under a three-day destitute feeding programme taken by Sylhet city unit BNP.

BCL clash in Sylhet

A clash between two groups of BCL over establishing supremacy in Tilagor area of Sylhet City on monday afternoon. Police said Two Group of BCL have long been at loggerheads over establishing their dominance in the area. Sporadic clashes continued between their supporters for the last three days over the issue. Around 4pm on Monday, the both groups engaged in a fresh clash. Sakawat Hussin, officer-in-charge of Shahporan Police Station, confirmed the incident.

NKM High School and Homes achieves 10th position

 NKM High School and Homes Narsingdi has showed excellent result achieving 100% percent success and obtained 10th in Dhaka Education Board in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination this year. A total of 45 examinees from science group, 9 from commerce group appeared from NKM High School and Homes in the SSC examination this year. Of them 45 students from Science group, 9 students from commerce group total 54 students out of total 54 students got GPA -5 in the examination. While contacted Arifur Rahman, Headmaster of NKM High School and Homes said we are happy with the result. We provide regular teaching to our students and also take care to train up our teachers for upgrading their teaching system and quality. World No Tobacco Day observed in Barisal

World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) 2015 with the theme for ‘stopping illicit trade of tobacco products’ observed in Barisal on Sunday calling for implementing the anti-tobacco acts against banning smoking and related tobacco items on water ways transports. The participants and speakers of the proggremes said smoking and selling tobacco on water transports unabatedly going on reverine southern region. So mobile courts should be operated regularly to implement banning smoking and selling tobacco items on water transports under anti-tobacco acts of the country, they said. Making city roads free from smoking, banning cultivation and business of tobacco by giving alternative livelihoods, prohibiting of selling tobacco items to minor-aged people, also stressed by the anti-tobacco activists. ‘Abiskar’, a voluntary organisation working on anti tobacco movement, organised a discussion meeting, reception to non-smokers and giving prizes on essay competition at Ashwini Kumar Hall on Sunday.
