AL activist’s hotel raided, wine , arms seized in Jessore

Rapid Action Battalion men on Friday morning arrested listed criminal Kazi Mahbubur Rahman alias Kala Bachchu along with a 9mm pistol, three one- shooters, a pipe gun and 8 rounds of bullets and a magazine. The miscreant was arrested from a fish enclosure at Kauria under Jhikargachha upazila at around 5am, said Squadron Leader Niaz Mohammad Faisal, in-charge, Jessore camp, RAB- 6. The RAB in-charge in a press briefing held at the battalion’s Jessore camp on Friday noon told that tipped off the RAB men raided the fish enclosure and seized the arms. ‘The arrested was wanted in several cases including murders and arms trading ‘, he added. The Armed Police Battalion (APBN) in a separate drive arrested two employees and seized seven bottles of foreign made wine raiding residential Hotel Golden Palace at Nawapara industrial town at around 10pm on Thursday.
6 fined by mobile court for lifting sands from Kirtankhola River

Coast Guard detained six persons with a dredger and two bulkhead carrier water transports and mobile court fined them Tk one lakh for illegally lifting sands from Kirtankhola River of Barisal on Wednesday afternoon. The arrested six were identified as Shamim Haoladar, Khairul Islam, Kawsar Haoladar, Manik Molla, Md. Jewel and Md. Helal, workers engaged for the work. Coast Guard Barisal base sources said after receiving allegations about illegally lifting sand from Kirtankhola River, CG operated a drive near Charmonai ferry ghat point at about 1:00 PM Wednesday. CG team detaining those six workers with sand dredging and carrying equipments after they failed to produce any legal documents against their activities, placed before the mobile court of district administration, sources added. Sadikur Rahman, petty officer of CG Barisal zone, said a mobile court led by Ilyasur Rahman, administrative magistrate and assistant commissioner land, fined detained 6 workers total Tk. One lakhs and taking bond from them not to repeat the crime in future released them with the dredger and bulk carriers at late afternoon.

Two held with liquor in Sunamganj
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested two young men in possession of five sacks of liquor from Narayantala village in Sadar upazila on Tuesday night.
The arrestees were identified as Dulal Miah,25, and Yunus Miah,24, residents of the same village.Rab-9 commanding officer Abdullah Al Mamun said on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in the area and arrested the duo at about 11:30 pm. Later, the law enforcers recovered five sacks of liquor from their possession.
