After a janaza, the eminent Politician will be buried at UK Graveyard on Wednesday after Juhor Prayer. Arrest of Ananta’s killers demanded
Sylhet Unit Ganojagoron Moncha yesterday submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina demanding arrest and trial of the people who have killed writer and Muktomona blogger Ananta Bijoy Das a few days back. Leaders and activists of the platform submitted the memorandum to the prime minister through Deputy Commissioner Shahidul Islam. In the memorandum, they demanded justice for all bloggers and Ganojagoron Moncho activists who had been killed by unidentified assailants. It stated that killers of blogger Rajib Haider, organiser of Ganojagoran Moncho Jogot Jyoti Talukdar, writer Avijit Roy and blogger Oyasiqur Rahman Babu were yet to be arrested or identified. Murders of progressive people is going on due to inefficiency of law enforcers. If the state fails to ensure justice for victims, the extremists will not spare free thinkers. A gang of assailants hacked blogger Ananta Bijoy Das on May 13, two months after the killing of writer-blogger Avijit Roy. He was an activists of Ganojagoron Moncho, a platform which is demanding a ban on Islamist parties and death penalty for convicted war criminals. Mahanagar Muktijoddha Sangsad Commander Bhobotosh Roy Bormon Rana, Cultural Organiser of Ganojagoron Moncha Monir Helal, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh Anwar Hossain Sumon, among others, were present.

President and General Secretary of Bangladesh Agricultural University Journalists’ Association (BAUJA) on Sunday received a legal notice from a Supreme Court lawyer to withdraw the reports about the probe report over corruption and appointment trade of the university. The notice was served by Rezaul Haque, advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh on behalf of the BAU Students Affairs’ Advisor Prof Dr Zohurul Haque Khandoker, Proctor Prof Dr Harun-ur-Rashid, Ex-general secretary of BAU Teachers’ Association Prof Dr Abu Hadi Noor Ali Khan, Ex- general secretary of ‘Gonotantrik Shikkhok Forum’ Prof Dr MA Salam, Prof Syed Ehsanur Rahman of Animal Science department, former general secretary of ‘Gonotantrik Shikkhok Forum’ Prof Dr Anamul Haque, assistant proctor Prof Dr Md. Mohir Uddin, director of Planning and Development section Prof MA Rashid and Prof Dr Abdul Momen Miah of agricultural extension department. In the notice, it is mentioned that the legal notice receivers are requested to withdraw the report which published in several newspapers within seven days on receipt the legal notice. Otherwise, the senders’ client will file criminal and civil case accusing President and General Secretary of BAUJA before the learned court.
Ansar demand arrear salaries in Barisal

Agitated members of Ansar forces demanding arrear salaries demonstrated and held rally cordoning district adjutant office of the Ansar and Village Defense Party at Kashipur area of Barisal city on Wednesday noon. The participants of the agitation programmes said 100 Ansars were selected and joined in the force on February 23, 2015, but yet not get any salary and benefits against their performed duties. Rezaul Huq, one of the salary-deprived agitated members of Ansar force, said they were recruited under monthly salary of Tk. 9,600 for each Ansar and Tk. 10,500 for each commandant, but yet not received single farthing. On the other hand authority in an order withdrawn all of them from their duties without paying arrear dues from Wednesday and that news agitated them, he added. Acknowledging the facts Md. Kamal Hossain, district commandant of Ansar and VDP said those Ansars were deployed in four police stations under Barisal Metropolitan Police to help police in keeping law and order on daily wage basis.
