115th birth anniv of Poet Jibanananda observed

A day- long ‘Jibanananda Utsav’ to observe 115th birth anniversary of one of the greatest Bengali Poet Jibanananda Das (17 February 1899 – 22 October 1954) was held at his ancestral town Barisal on Monday. Like previous years, Jatiya Kabita Parishad Barisal unit organised a programme at the Poet Jibanananda Memorial Hall at the parental house of the poet on Kobi Jibanananda Das Sarak in the city in the morning. This programme included placing flower wreath at the portrait of the poet, recitation of poetry and discussion by Tapankar Chakraborty, Moshtaq Al Mehedi, Partha Sarathi, and Aroop Talukdar. Barisal Government BM College, where the poet studied and later taught, has organised a daylong Jibanananda Festival in two sessions in collaboration with Dhrupodi.Com.
