The members of Border Guard Bangladesh recovered narcotics goods worth taka 56,500 including 130 bottles of Indian phensidyle, 3 bottle officer choice wine from Hajitary village of Anantapur frontier under Phulbari upazila in Kurigram district in the morning on Monday. The members of Uttar Anantapur BGB camp led by Havilder Shafikul Islam conducted the drive. On the other hand, the members of Ganger haat Border Out Post (BOP) raided in Kuti chandranakhana frontier village and recovered 48 bottles of phensidyle worth taka 19,200. Camp commander of Ganger haat BGB Havilder Lablur Rahman in a secret information led the drive operation in the morning. The recovered goods were deposited to Kurigram Narcotics Control Department. Director of Kurigram 45 BGB Battalion Lt. Col. Zakir Hossain said the narcotics goods worth taka 75,700 were recovered from two frontier area and the anti narcotics drive is going on continuously.
Child dies falling under tree at Bauphal

A child named Ruhul Amin died tragically falling under a tree at Tuesday afternoon at Shibpur village in Bauphal upazila under Patuakhali district. It was learnt that Ruhul Amin, son of Jamal Duary of that village, was playing beside his house. There people of that home was cutting tree. Suddenly a log of that tree fall on his head and he died on the spot.
Construction worker killed after falling from roof-top

A construction worker killed after falling from roof of a under construction building at Vatikhana area of the city on Tuesday morning. The deceased was identified as Aziz Haoladar, 55, son of Ganje Ali of Munshi Bari in the area. Abul Kalam, ward master of Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital, said Aziz admitted at the hospital at about 10:00 AM Tuesday after injured by falling from roof-top of under construction building owned by Tapan Saha at Saha Para of Vatikhana. He received severe head injury and succumbed at about 11:30 AM Tuesday while under treatment at SBMCH, Abul Kalam added. Kawnia police station officer in charge Selim Reza said dead body sent to SBMCH morgue for autopsy after lodging a case of unnatural death.
Room ransacked in BCL factional clash at Barisal Polytech

Three students and four outsiders injured and one hostel room ransacked in BCL factional clash over taking drug at Barisal Government Polytechnic Institute Hostel on early Tuesday. Among the injured Avik, Tamim and Mohsin, three polytechnic students admitted at Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital. Injured and witnesses said Imon, Sohag, Jasim, Saidul, Jewel, Samsuddin, Faisal , Towhid, Sabuj, Wahid, Wazidul, Marzan, a group of outsiders and followers of Barisal city BCL president Jasimuddin, for taking drug entered at room no.201 of Barisal Polytechnic main hostel at about 11:00 PM Monday. Zahirul Islam Tamim, residential student of the room, opposing outsiders asked them to get out of the room.
Farmers get seeds, fertilizer in Sylhet

The Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) in Sylhet on Friday started free distribution of Aus paddy seeds and fertiliser among 8,100 small and marginal farmers in the district under a government programme for production of rice.
Sources said the ministry of agriculture has taken a programme to offer free seeds and fertiliser to over two lakh farmers cultivating Aus pady across the country in the current season.
Buddhists celebrate Buddha Purnima
Members of the Buddhist community celebrated their most sacred festival Buddha Purnima in the city as elsewhere in the Sylhet district on Monday with solemn devotion and traditional enthusiasm Reverentially, the most important day for the followers of Buddhism, commemorate three important events – Lord Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and also his attainment of the highest spiritual goals, ‘Nirvana’ respectively in Bodh Gaya and ‘Parinirvana’ (or “final cessation”) in Kushinagara of India .As the name itself suggests, Buddha Purnima is observed on a bright full moon in the Vaisakha month, a time especially suited for introspection, charity and puja. This day is a thrice blessed day. Gautam Buddha “lived and died in about the fifth century before the Christian era”.
