Youth’s bullet-hit body recovered in Sirajganj

Police recovered the body of a young man with bullet wounds from the west side of the Bangabandhu Bridge in Kamarkhad upazila on Saturday morning. The deceased was identified as Jahangir Alam, 35, son of Delwar Hossain, a resident of Tentulia village in Sadar upazila. Locals noticed his body with bullet wounds in the head lying beneath an over-bridge on the Bangabandhu Bridge approach road (west side) at Jhawail village and informed police at about 9:30 am. Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy. A case was filed in this connection.
Two held with yaba

A team of detective branch of police arrested two drug peddlers with 2,198 pieces of yaba from Chanchra point of Jessore Kalna road on Sunday. The arrestees were identified as Kabir Hossain, son of Sekendar Ali of Raipaa village under Jessore Kotwali thana and Noor Islam son of Azmat Ali of Kabashahi village under Avoinagar upazila of Jessore district. SI Jalal Uddin and SI Waliul Islam said, on Sunday while a team of DB police was on duty at Chanchra area of Narail-Jessore road, as a part of regular search they found out 2,198 pieces of yaba tablet in a Kalna bound private car. A case under narcotics control act has been filed with sadar thana, they informed.
