Health camp held in Teghoria village

Dhaka Community Hospital Trust organised a health camp under the programme of “Establishing Teghoria Community Clinic and Developing Medical Services for Residents of Disaster-prone Areas in Habiganj’. The health camp was held at Teghoria village of Habiganj district on Thursday. More than 2500 patients got service through different departments, such as Medicine, Pediatric, Gynae & Obs. After the completion of health camp, nourishing food distribution to the un-privileged people of the village was held on the day. This programme is implemented by DCH Trust in collaboration with Hope Bridge-Korea Disaster Relief and Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management and supported by Community Chest of Korea and sponsored by SAMSUN C&T.
World Veterinary Day observed at RU

Teachers and students of Rajshahi University yesterday observed World Veterinary Day on the campus . To mark the Day, over 150 hundred teachers and students of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science Department under the banner of ‘Veterinary Students’ Association’ brought out a colorful procession from the university administrative building at 11:00am. The procession ended at the department premises after marching the main streets of the campus. RU Vice Chancellor Prof Muhammad Mizanuddin inaugurated the procession by releasing pigeons. The theme of the day in this year was “vector borne diseases with zoonotic potential” On the other hand, studies of life science of Rajshahi University in collaboration with the university science club observed the world DNA day on campus. They also brought out a colorful procession on campus at the same time.
Two Indian cattle smugglers held in C’nawabganj

BGB arrested two Indian cattle smugglers and recovered two cows from their possession at Wahedpur frontier under Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district on early hours on Friday. The arrested persons have been identified as Alauddin Sheikh, 28, son of Md. Lutfar Hoque and Md. Rubel Sheikh, 29, son of Musa Sheikh both of Hasanpur village under Awrangabad thana of Murshidabad district in India. Commanding Officer of 9 battalion of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Lieutenant Colonnel Abu Jafar Sheikh Md. Bazlul Hoque said, these Indian cattle smugglers entered 300 yards inside Bangladesh territory near border pillar no. 13/2-S with two Indian cows at around 3-30 am. At this, a patrol team of BGB from Wahedpur Border Out Post (BOP) arrested them with the cows and handed them over to the police of Shibganj thana.
