Int’l Trade Fair inaugurated in Barisal

International Trade Fair organised by Barisal Chamber of Commerce and Industries and inaugurated by metropolitan police commissioner adjacent Muktijoddha Park on Kirtankhola River bank going on filled with obscene cultural and gambling shows. Local elite in Barisal protested shows of obscene culture and gambling for damaging moral values, affecting law and order and hampering ongoing HSC examination preparations. After visiting the BITF 2015 it was found that there was no foreign stall as named to be fair ‘international’. A few number of stalls for selling different types of household items like cloths, crockeries,shoes, cosmetics opened in the fair, but failed to draw customers.
Eve teaser convicted in Jhenidah

A mobile court in Jhenidah has sentenced an eve teaser one year imprisonment due to teasing a girl student on Wednesday. UNO Julkar Nayan of Jhenidah sadar upazila of the mobile court gave this punishment instantly. The convict is identified as Mukter Hossain Mahadi, 23 son of Tangor Biswas of Batai village in Sadar upazila. UNO Julkar Nayan of Jhenidah Sadar upazila said, on Wednesday morning at around 09:00 am a girl student was going to appear at the HSC examnation at K.C college of the district town. On the way to college Mahadi started to tease her. On information a team of police of Jhenidah sadar police sation reached the spot and arrested Mahadi. Later, a mobile court led by UNO and sentenced him one year imprisonment.
One worker killed in Sylhet landslide

One worker was killed and two injured in a landslide while extracting stones from Jaflong in Goainghat upazila on Monday night. The deceased was identified as Ali Ahmed, 40, son of Ershad Ullah, alompur village in Duara upazila.Officer-in-charge of Goainghat police station Abdul Hai said the incident took place in between 8pm and 9 pm, leaving them dead on the spot. However, the bodies of the four victims could not be retrieved till filing of the report .

National Disaster Preparedness Day was observed at Pirganj Upazila under Thakurgaon district recently. Under the theme of Ò Let us know science based information and bring down losses of disester” Pirganj Upazila Administration brought out a colourful rally and discussion meeting to mark the National Disaster Preparedness day at pirganj Upazila in Thakurgaon district. Md. Ziaul Islam Zia attend the discussion meeting as chief guest where ABM Iftekharul Islam khandakar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Pirganj in the chair. Spok on the discussion meeting among others by UP chair man Md Akramul Haque, Upazila Fisheries officer Md. Foysal Azom, Medical Officer Zannatul Ferdos Bappy, Education officer Md. Nazrul Islam, Secondary Education officer Md. Tofazzol Hossein, PIO Tariqul Islam, Vice-president Upazila Anti-Corruption Prevention Committee Moffakharul Islam, member Samima Akter and Mizanur Rahman, Bishnu pada Roy Pirganj Correspondent Dainik Alor kontha were present and spoken on the occasion.
