Establishments fined in Kapasia

The mobile court fined the owner of adulterated molasses factory in Khirati village of Ghagtia union of Kapasia upazila of Gazipur on Wednesday. On the basis of secret information, the operation was conducted at the adulterated sugarcane molasses factory adjacent to MA Majid Science College in Khirati village of the upazila. Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Nazmul Hussain managed the mobile court. Kapasia Thana police and Ansar members provided full cooperation. Jaggery was made by mixing rotten jaggery, alum, sugar, chemicals and water in a dirty environment in jaggery factories. The factory was managed by Nurul Islam (60). He is the son of deceased Rahmat Ali of Khirati village. Executive Magistrate Nazmul Hussain said that Nurul Islam, the owner of jaggery factory, was fined 15 thousand taka according to Consumer Rights Protection Act 39/43 of 2009 for making jaggery in unsanitary environment by mixing rotten jaggery, alum, sugar, chemicals and water.

IF arranges seminar on role of Imams

Islamic Foundation (IF), a unit of Religious Ministry arranged a day -long seminar titled “Initiative activities through Imams to improve the quality of life and conserve biodiversity in Haor area” and SDGs at Collectorate Conference room on Wednesday. DC in Kishoreganj Mohammad Shamim Alam attendent as chief guest and Police Super (SP) Mohammad Rasel Sheikh PPM (Bar), Civil surgeon (CS) and ADC (Education &Ict) Golam Mostafa were special guests, while Deputy Director (DD) in Islamic Foundation Md.Mohashin Khan presided over. It was addressed among others, Jamia Emdadia Madrasha Principal Moulona Abdur. Rashid, Moulona Syed Ashraf Ali. Senior Journalist and CAB district president Alam Sarowar Tito, Assistan Director (AD) of Non -Formal education programme Abdul Malaque , Moulona Abdur Rouf Soheb, Principle Moulona Mujibur Rahman and A.K.M Mostofa of Islamic Foundation. The seminar was attended by imams of various mosques and officials of the Islamic Foundation.”

Meet on improving quality of edu held

A view exchange meeting was held with journalists to improve the quality of education in Iswardi. The meeting was held at Ishwardi Girls’ School and College on Friday. Murad Ali Malitha, President of the Management Committee, presided over the meeting. The programme was conducted by Principal Aslam Hossain. Speakers at the meeting said that the environment of educational institutions plays an important role in improving the quality of education. Apart from this, awareness should be created among teachers as well as parents. Speakers gave guidance on how to overcome the obstacles in improving the quality of education and make the education of the upazila up-to-date. Various suggestions are made to improve the quality of education, including proper teaching, not allowing students to go outside during class and friendly behavior with students. Ishwardi Press Club President Professor Swapan Kumar Kundu, Past President Mostak Ahmed Kiran, General Secretary Abul Baten, Deputy General Secretary Sheikh Mohsin spoke on the occasion.
