Two cattle lifters arrested in Kalapara

Two cattle lifters arrested while selling stolen cow in Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali district. The thieves were caught by the locals at Dhankhali union of the upazila on Saturday night and while selling one cow stolen from the sand field of Londa village of the union. The detainees were identified as Rafez Hawladar of Barguna Sadar and Md. Rubel from Purba Chila village in Amtali upazila of Barguna district Kalapara Police Station Officer in Charge (OC) Md Jasim said after receiving the information through locals on Sunday morning, police brought the cow lifters to the police station and lodging a case sent to jail producing before Patuakhali court . The rescued cow has been placed under custody of the local Chowkidar, police sources added.
Housewife commits suicide in Kurigram

One housewife was committed suicide due to family feud at Ulipur upazila in Kurigram on Saturday.The deceased was identified as Sahera Begum(35) wife of Mohubar Ali of village JolodharKuti under Buraburi union of the upazila.Former chairman of Hatia union BM Abul Hossain said Mohubar Ali of village Jolodharkuti which disconnected with the Brahmaputra River was the victim of river erosion. Consequently, he removed his house and was shifted to Baburchar adjacent Hatia union. He led his miserable life as he lost everything by river erosion and he used to quarrel with his wife due to family feud. At one stage of their altercation, the house wife Sahera was committed suicide hanging herself with a ceiling of her house. She is also the mother of three children.Officer-in-charge of Ulipur Police Station Imteaz Kabir said police forces have been sent to the spot. Lawful action will be taken after investigation, he added.

Kid drowns in Kulaura

A two-year-old boy named Abu Talib drowned in a pond at Kulaura in Moulvibazar. The incident took place in Gazipur area of Joychandi union of the upazila on Tuesday. He is the youngest son of Abdul Hasim. Joychandi Union 9th ward local UP member. Fazlul Awal said that around 12:30 pm, Abu Talib was fed by his mother and left to play inside the house. As the gate of the house was open, everyone in the family unknowingly fell into the pond next to the house. After searching for about an hour without finding him at home. Then Talib’s body was found floating in the water. He was rescued and taken to the Emergency Department of Kulaura Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared Talib dead.
