Relief items in distributed in three Upazilas

Jamiat-e-Ulama Islam Bangladesh distributed relief items among flood victims in Jaintapur, Gowainghat and Kanaighat upazilas of Sylhet on Sunday. Joint Secretary General of Jamiat-e-Ulama Islam Bangladesh Maulana Abdul Malik Chowdhury distributed relief items among the locals after visiting flood-hit areas of Jaintapur, Gowainghat and Kanaighat upazilas in district. Acting President of Jamiat Ulama Islam Sylhet Metropolitan Branch Principal Maulana Mahmudul Hasan, Joint General Secretary of Sylhet District Jamiat Maulana Abdus Salam, Publicity Secretary Maulana Rafiq Ahmad Mahli, General Secretary of the Metropolitan Maulana Abu Bakar Siddique Sarkar and Co-Secretary Maulana Hasan Ahmed were present on the occasion. President of Student Jamiat Bangladesh Nizam Uddin Al Adnan, Central Vice President of Youth Jamiat Hafiz Mahmudul Hasan, Acting President of Mahanagar Youth Jamiat Mahdi Hasan, General Secretary Advocate Rezaul Haque, Maulana Kabir Ahmed, Maulana Maqbool Hossain, Student Leader Rezaul Rahim Husama, Ashraf, Badrul also attended here.

Illegal polythene factory found

Detective Branch (DB) raided Ishwardi and arrested a businessman named Amir Hossain (58) with illegal polythene worth Tk 11,60,000. He is the son of the late Abdul Latif of Arankola (Alhaj Mor) area in the middle of the city. Separate raids were carried out at Harukhali ground in Ishwardi on Tuesday afternoon and later in the market area in the afternoon. At the beginning of the operation, the owner of the factory Amir Hossain was arrested. Later, on the basis of the information provided by him, a large quantity of illegal polythene produced in the factory and in two godowns of Ishwardi Bazar was seized. Pabna Additional Superintendent of Police Masud Alam said that based on the information provided by the arrested emir, they raided the Tinsed Godown near Nurmahalla Bhaga Tower in the city and recovered 220 bags of illegal polythene bags, which were banned by the government. The estimated cost of which is about 11 lakh 60 thousand taka.
