Discussion, Iftar of Bangabandhu Parishad held

Discussion meeting and Iftar mahfil were held in Ishwardi on the occasion of Bangabandhu birth centenary and golden jubilee of independence on the initiative of Bangabandhu Parishad. The meeting and iftar was held on Friday in the Auditorium of the Sugarcane Research Center. The chief guest was Pabna-4 MP Freedom fighters Alhaj Md. Nuruzzaman biswas. Bangabandhu Parishad central president announced the virtual inauguration. Dr. SA Malek. Atiyar Rahman presided. Assistant Professor Shahidul Haque Shahin conducted the function. Special guests were Upazila Chairman Freedom fighters Alhaj Naib Ali Biswas, Director General of BSRI Dr. Amjad Hossain, General Secretary of Upazila Awami League, Former Mayor Abul Kalam Azad Mintu, Mayor of Municipal Awami League Ishaq Ali Malitha, Treasurer of Central Committee of Bangabandhu Parishad Jalal Uddin Tuhin Member of Central Committee of Bangabandhu Parishad and Professor of Rajshahi University Dr. Kamruzzaman. Later, 17-member of convening committee was announced with Atiyar Rahman as convener and Adhyak Shahidul Haque Shahin and Matiar Rahman Chanchal as joint conveners.
Five snatchers arrested at Paturia Ghat

A team of RAB-4 has arrested five youths on the charge of snatching mobile phones of homebound passengers at Paturia ferry terminal in Shibalaya upazila of Manikganj. Five mobile phones were recovered from them at that time. CPB-3 Company Commander of RAB-4 Lieutenant Commander Arif Hossain informed about the matter on Friday. The arrested are Monir Hossain (35), Md. Alimullah (26), Md. Hiru Sheikh (22), Md. Russell (20) and Al-Amin Mollah (24). It is believed that they had been carrying out various misdeeds including looting in Paturia Ghat area for a long time. According to RAB and Ghat related sources, snatchers, Malam Party and Aggan Party members became active in the Paturia ferry terminal of Manikganj on the occasion of Eid. Meanwhile, a team from CPB-3 Manikganj of RAB-4 launched an operation against the hijackers to ensure the safety of the passengers. Five mobile phones were recovered from the five members of the snatching team. RAB-4 Manikganj Company Commander Lieutenant Commander Arif Hossain said that RAB members are working to prevent looting, extortion and ensure safety of passengers in Paturia and Aricha Ghat areas on Eid. A case has been filed against the arrested snatcher at Shibalaya police station. Shibalaya police officer in charge. Shahin said the kidnappers had been sent to court. Such operations will continue at the ghat area in the Eid.
