Iftar held at Rooppur Nuclear Power Project

Iftar mahfil was held on Tuesday at Bangla Kutir of Rooppur Nuclear Power Project(RNPP) in Ishwardi. The short iftar was organized in honor of Science and Technology Minister Architect Yafes Osman and Pabna-4 MP Alhaj Nuruzzaman Biswas. Iftar gathering was organized by the project director Dr. Shaukat Akbar. At this time the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family and the souls of the martyrs killed in the war of liberation were prayed for. Project consultant Dr.. Shahid Hossain, Ali Hossain, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology, Azizul Haque, Chairman, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, Nasir Ahmed, Member Engineer of the Commission, Dr. Zakaria Hossain, Alak Chakraborty, Head of Finance Department of the project, Site Director Engineer Ashraful Islam and other officials were present on the occasion.
Houses given to helpless families

Four helpless, homeless and destitute families were handed over their houses under the financing and supervision of The Heroic Humanitarian Housing Project in Kulaura municipal area of Moulvibazar district, on Saturday afternoon. Kulaura UNO ATM Farhad Chowdhury, Kulaura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Binoy Bhushan Roy, Team Advisor Muhammad Liton, Badruzzaman Sajal, Khaled Parvez Boksh and many others were present. The houses are funded entirely by Bangladeshis and expatriate Bengalis living abroad. Notable team advisers include Muhibur Rahman Khan, a Canadian expatriate, Mohammad Rahman Jewel, Haji Almash Ali, an American expatriate, Kabir Ahmad Farooq, a London expatriate, Dewan Gofran Chowdhury, a Canadian expatriate, Musleh Uddin, Shahriar Bhujia, a Canadian expatriate, among others. March 8, 2022, the houses of three helpless families, Fatema Begum No. 1, Kutu Mia No. 2 and Nasima Begum No. 3, were completely burnt down in Railway Colony under Ward No. 5 of Kulaura Municipality in Moulvibazar District. The house of Abdul Latif’s helpless family fell. Four families came down the street in clothes and without shelter.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested a member of a gang, who sale train tickets in black, at South Surma area in Sylhet Metropolitan along with train tickets and other relevant equipment.The arrested man is Zufen Ahmed, 27, a resident of Boroikandi area under South Surma police station area.Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-9 conducted a raid at Jamuna Super Market in Barthkhola around 5:30 pm on Saturday and arrested the man, according to a press release from RAB-9 on Sunday. A total of two online copies of train ticket, 30 online application copies, a computer CPU, a monitor, a printer, a mobile phone set and a sim card were seized from his possession. A case was filed against the man with South Surma Police Station in this regard.
