Foundation stone of Forest Department Range Office

The foundation stone of the permanent building of the Range Office of the Forest Department has been laid at Kulaura for about 63 years. Prior to this, since 1958, the Kulaura Range Office under the Sylhet Forest Department had been conducting official activities in a dilapidated house. Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan laid the foundation stone of the building on Wednesday. Also present were Sylhet Divisional Forest Officer Taufiqul Islam, Upazila Nirbahi Officer ATM Farhad Chowdhury, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Fazlul Haque Khan Shahed, Women Vice Chairman Fateha Ferdous Chowdhury Poppy, Upazila Awami League President Rafiqul Islam Renu, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sajal Mollah, Assistant Forest Conservator Abu Bakkar Siddique, Gazipur Tea Garden Deputy General Manager Jayant Dhar, MP’s representative Nawabzada Ali Wazed Khan Babu, OC (Investigation) Md.  Communist Party of Bangladesh(CPB) is going to celebrate its 74th founding anniversary in a befitting manner on Sunday. CPB, Kishoreganj was brought out a red-flag procession from its District Office Sunday evening in the town marking the day. The Communist Party arranged a discussion meeting at its office on Sunday evening. District Committee President Comrade Abdur Rahman presided over. It was addressed among others by ex.district president comrade syed Nazrul Islam, general secretary advocate Enamul Haque,, Comrade Abul Hashem Master, Devoprotha Das and Trade Union district president comrade Abdus Satter.  

Child killed in Sharankhola road mishap

A minor girl named Ria Moni (06) met her tragic end when she was run over by a speeding easy bike on Sineboard-Sharankhola local Highway at Kadamtala under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district on Sunday noon. The deceased was the daughter of one Md. Belal Hawladar of village Lakurtala under Sharankhola Upazila. Her parents are living in India to earn their livelihood. It is learnt from the local UP member Khairul Islam that the ill-fated girl had been living in the house of her material grand parents at Kadamtala village under the same Upazila. At the noon when she was crossing the highway the killer easy bike knocked down the girl violently.
As a result, the girl was fatally injured. Some locals recovered the injured girl from there and admitted her to Sharankhola Upazila Health Complex where she succumbed to her injuries on the same day.

Open House Day held in Manikganj

An open house day and an exchange of views on law and order were held to bring policing services to the doorsteps of the people in Manikganj. The meeting was organized to build a drug and terror free society by increasing the involvement of public representatives and police with the general public.
Superintendent of Police Golam Azad Khan was present as the chief guest at a function held at ManikganjSadar Thana premises on Wednesday. Manikganj Sadar Police Officer-in-Charge AbdurRauf Sarkar presided over the ceremony, Manikganj Municipality Mayor. Ramzan Ali, Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Hafizur Rahman, District Community Policing Forum President Habibur Rahman, General Secretary of Manikganj Press Club Atindra Chakraborty Biplopand others spoke.
