Khelaghor conference held at Ishwardi

The day-long Khelaghor Ishwardi Upazila Conference was inaugurated by Municipal Mayor Ishac Ali Malitha Bangladesh Sugar Crop Institute on Friday. Special guests were Runu Ali, Acting General Secretary of the Central Committee, Enamul Haque Jinnah, Central Member and Acting Rajshahi Division. At the conference, the participants of the various branches of the conference won the appreciation of the audience by reciting group dances, songs and poems. In the second phase, a 31-member committee was announced for the next two years. Dewan Abul Hashem has been elected president and Farzana Ahmed Rani general secretary.
Discussion, cultural programme held
Occasion of the golden jubilee of independence and the birth centenary of Bangabandhu discussion meeting was held at Ishwardi on the spirit of liberation war, reminiscence of liberation war, heroism and contribution of Bangabandhu in liberation war. Mujib Bahini’s regional chief, heroic freedom fighter Alhaj Nuruzzaman Biswas MP was the chief guest at a meeting organized by Ishwardi Municipality at the Mahbub Ahmed Smriti Mancha in the city’s old bus stand on Friday afternoon. Upazila Chairman and Upazila Awami League President Alhaj Naib Ali Biswas was the special guest in the presidency of Mayor Ishaq Ali Malitha. Bir Muktijoddha Golam Mostafa Channa Mandal, Mohammad Rashidullah, Abdul Khaleq, Habibul Islam Habbul, Akram Hossain Khan, Siraj Uddin Biswas, Tahurul Islam Mollah, Alauddin Pramanik, Anwar Hossain Rumi and others spoke. The meeting was attended by heroic freedom fighters, politicians, journalists, municipal officials and employees.

The two-day episode of Kishoreganj Chhara Utsav and Chandrabati Mela was held on Friday. At the initiative of Awake Narsunda Literary and Cultural Organization, the Board of Directors of Kishoreganj Rhyme Festival organized a 3 day long programme of 18th Rhyme Festival and Chandrabati Mela . Veteran poet Abdul Hannan inaugurated the event by blowing balloons at the City Cooperative Community Center on 3rd March. The chief guest was Rezwan Ahmed Tawfiq MP (Kishoreganj-4) presided over by Mr. Ahmed Ullah. Freedom Fighter MA Afzal General Secretary District, Awami League, Special Guest was Shahnaz Kabir, Poet Nirmal Jana Chharakar Bharat, Shahjahan Kabir Chharakar and Sushmita Roy . The recipients of Sukumar Roy Literary Award are poet, rhymer, historian Shah Alam Billal, Nur Alam Gandhi, Basirul Amin, Rahima Akhter Kalpana, Dr. Mirza Golam Sarwar.
