PM’s gift food items distributed

District Administration in Kishoreganj distributed PM’s gifted food items among 300 destitute families in Kishoreganj Sadar at Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Stadium on Saturday forthe jobless people due to Covid-19 pendamic. DC Mohammad Shamim Alam attended as chief guest while ADC(Education &ICT)Golam Mostofa presided over the function. Additional SP (Administration) Mustaque Sarker was present as special guest. Among others, District Awami League General Secretary Advocate M.A Afzol, Sadar UNO Mohammad Ali. District Sports Officer (DSO)Al-Amin Sabuj, CAB district president Alam Sarowar Tito, District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal, Senior Magistrate Shafiul Islam and others dignified persons were also present. Kishoreganj district administration distributed the food items as the gifts of the Prime Minister. Each packet of food items contained 10 kgs miniket rice, one kg of pulses, one liter of soybean oil, two kg of Chira , one kg of sugar , one kg salt and half kg stick noddles a total of 16kgs 500 grams.
Houses gutted at Tarash

Furniture and money of the house were burnt to ashes in Tarash of Sirajganj on Friday. The incident took place at the house of Ariful Islam, son of Dulal Hossain of Kohit village under the upazila Municipality. Fire service personnel worked for about 1 hour to bring the fire under control. Ariful is a van driver by profession. It is learned that the fire broke out in the van driver’s house destroying the furniture and money. The victim Ariful Islam said that he went to my father-in-law’s house in Balva village with my wife and children before Thursday evening.” He stayed at my father-in-law’s house at night. Suddenly at dawn I got the news that my house was on fire. After coming home, he saw that there was nothing in his house, everything was burnt to ashes. His only source of income including Tk 30,000 sent by my mother in my house, furniture, rice, pulses, clothes, van burned. He is seeking help from government to give me some financial support so that he can have a family with my wife and children.
