Due to the recent increase in corona infection in Ishwardi, Ishwardi Municipality has adopted a programme to use 100% masks. With the increase in awareness among the citizens about Corona, the Municipal Council has started public relations in the field for the use of compulsory masks for all the people living in the municipal area. As part of the programme, on Wednesday the municipal council, led by Mayor Ishaq Ali Malitha, distributed masks and called on the people to be aware at various corners. Mass connections and masks were distributed at the city’s Post Office Junction, Rail-gate and Alhaj Junction. Municipal Secretary Zahurul Haque, Councilor Abul Hashem, Yusuf Ali Pradhan, Firoza Begum, Farida Yasmin, Kamal Uddin, Abdul Latif Mintu, Monirul Islam Sabu, Wakil Ahmed, Abu Zahid Administrative Chief Masudul Alam and other officials and employees of the council were present. Mayor Ishaq Ali Malitha said that despite the recent alarming rise in the number of coronary heart disease patients in Ishwardi, there is a lack of awareness among the people. Man throwing acid arrested in Saturia

Members of RAB-4 has arrested the accused in the case of throwing acid on a garment worker of Saturiaupazila of Mainikganj. On Wednesday afternoon RAB 4 confirmed the matter through a press release. The arrested accused is Naeem Hossain, 30, son of Nizamuddin of Betulia village in Manikganj. On Tuesday, RAB conducted 4 raids in Sakrail Bazar area under ManikganjSadar Police Station and arrested him. It may be mentioned that on January 29, Akter (19), daughter of Abdus Sattar of Katakhali Ferajipara area of Dhankora union of Saturiaupazila, was sleeping in her house with her mother and sister. The acid thrown by the miscreant through the broken window of the house in the middle of the night scorched the face and various parts of the body of the partner, the younger sister of the victim Iti Akhter (8) and mother Julekha Begum’s body was burnt in different places. The people of the area rushed to the spot and rushed him to Manikganj Sadar Hospital. Later, when his partner’s condition deteriorated, he was referred to Dhaka Medical College. He is currently undergoing treatment at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital with his face and body burnt by acid. Accused Naeem went into hiding immediately after the incident. He continued to change places from time to time in disguise to avoid arrest at the hands of law enforcement. On Tuesday, RAB conducted 4 raids in Sakrail Bazar area under ManikganjSadar Police Station and arrested him. During interrogation, the arrested accused confessed to the RAB that he was directly involved in the acid attack.
