View exchange meet held in Bonpara

A view exchange meeting of Christian community with the mayors and councilors of Bonpara Municipal Corporation on the occasion of 25 December ( X-Mass).
The meeting was presided over by Municipal Mayor KM Zakir Hossain and conducted by Municipal Secretary Abdul Hai at Bonpara Municipal Auditorium on Tuesday afternoon. Municipal Councilor Mohit Kumar Sarkar, Father Dilip S. Costa of Bonpara Christian Dharmapalli, President of Bonpara Christian Credit Co-operative Union Mr. Subrata Rosario, General Secretary Shilpi Cross, Social Worker Ratan Perera and others spoke at the meeting.
Digital lottery for admission in Ishwardi

Students have been selected through digital lottery for admission in class VI at Ishwardi’s Government SM School and College. An open digital lottery was held on Wednesday morning in the school’s Harroom to admit students to this school in Ishwardi. PM Imrul Kayes, convener of the admission committee and Upazila Nirbahi Officer presided over the function. Upazila Secondary Education Officer Selim Akhter, Social Service Officer Masud Rana, Upazila Academic Supervisor Ariful Islam, Assistant Programmer Masud Rana, Assistant Headmaster Mokhlesur Rahman along with teachers, journalists and a large number of parents were present. The programme was conducted by Assistant Professor Shahidul Haque Shahin. Principal Ainul Islam said 120 male and 60 female students have been elected in 180 seats.
One killed in road accident

A young man was killed on the spot when his motor cycle collided head on with a speeding truck on Bagerhat-Khulna Highway at Dashani in front of Bagerhat Circuit House at Monday night (at about 10 pm). The ill-fated motor cyclist was identified as Suman Hawladar (30), supervisor of a Bkash service center of the district town and son of one Siddique Hawladar hails from Staff quarter area of the same town. It is learnt from some eye-witnesses that at the night the deceased going to his residence by a motor cycle from Meghnitala area and when he reached the place of occurrence the killer truck that was coming from the opposite direction dashed the cycle violently and fled away.
As a result, he was crushed under the wheels of the truck and his head and hands were detached from his body. Consequently, he was killed on the spot. Police could not seize the truck.
