SOS Children’s Village International in Bangladesh, distributed necessary food items at different areas of Osmaninagar and Balaganj upazilas of Sylhet on Monday. Nilima Rayhana, UNO of Osmaninagar, Sylhet inaugurated the programme as the Chief Guest at SOS Children’s Village Sylhet premises.
The event was presided over by Md. Mazharul Islam Khan, Assistant Director, SOS Children’s Village Sylhet and conducted by Mr. Tanbir Ahmed, Officer-Programme, SOS Social Center Sylhet. Dayamir Union Parishad Chairman STM Fakhar Uddin, Boaljur Union Parishad Chairman Md Anhar Mia, Usmanpur Union Parishad Chairman Moinul Azad Faruk, The Newnation Sylhet bureau chief SA Shofiee and local elites also attend here. The programme was conducted by SOS Social Center Sylhet Programme Officer Tanbir Ahmed and was attended by Later, the food items were distributed with all safety measures, maintain proper hygiene and safe distance at Mominpur area of Osmanpur union, Banigaon and Sonapur areas of Boaljur union. Notable personalities including the chairmen of their respective unions were present on the occasion.The food items were distributed among 478 families under the Family Strengthening and Kinship Care Program. of 02 upazilas. The food items are Rice, Soybean oil, Salt , Lentils, potatoes ,onion, powdered milk, sugar, muri,energy biscuits – eggs, laundry soap ,beauty soap and detergent powder.
Fake female police held

A fake female police named Nasrina Khatun alias Sunu (36) was arrested by police from her residence at Deapara Village within Shuvodia Union under Faklirhat Upazila in Bagerhat at Saturday night. At that time a complete dress (including shirt, pant, belt, name-plate) was recovered from her house. In this connection SI Sanjib Kumar Pal, in charge of Shuvodia police outpost registered a case with Fakirhat Model PS as the plaintiff against the arrestee on Sunday morning. It is learnt from a police-source that Nasrina Khatun, daughter of one late Mohammad Hossain of village Deapara had been cheating the people of the localities through threatening after wearing dress of police and introducing herself as a member of Bamngladesh police. Abu Sayeed Mohammad Khairul Anam, Officer-in-Charge of Fakirhat PS told, Nasrina Khatun was arrested along with the dress of police on the charge of cheating the people.
