Solo exhibition at Gafargaon

A 10-day solo exhibition of artist J. E. Sumon was inaugurated at Gafargaon, Mymensingh on the occasion of Mujib Centenary and Golden Jubilee of Independence. A solo exhibition organized by Upazila Parishad and Upazila Administration started at Altaf Hossain Golandaz Auditorium in the town on Tuesday afternoon. It will continue till 16th December.Upazila Parishad Asraf Uddin Badal was the chief guest at the inaugural function presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md.Tajul Islam.Assistant Commissioner (Land) Kaberi Roy, Upazila Mohila Vice-chairman Reshma Akter was the special guest. Individuals from different walks of society were present on the occasion. Artist Zahirul Islam Sumon gave a welcome speech on the occasion.The exhibition will be open to the public everyday from 3pm to 8pm until December 16.
Two people electrocuted
An electrician named Rajib (21) and a sixth class school student named Usman alias Ramim (12) were electrocuted in Bharvara Namapara Village of Gafargaon Upazila of Mymensingh. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon. The deceased were identified as Ali Hossain, son of late Ali Hossain of Bharvara Namapara village in Rasulpur union and Usman alias Ramim, son of Qayyum Miah of the same village. According to local sources, Rajib, an electrician of the same area, was working on the ground of the power connection line of Kaiyum Mia’s house in Bharvara Namapara village of Rasulpur union of the upazila around 3:30 pm on Sunday. At that time, schoolboy Uthman was standing next to him. Suddenly, they were struck by lightning and fell into a nearby pond. After searching, the people of the house rescued the two from the water in the pond.
Shibalaya Uz Hospital Management Committee meet held

Shibalaya Upazila Hospital Management Committee meeting was held on Tuesday after nearly two and a half years. Hospital Management Committee President AM Naimur Rahman Durjoy MP presided over the function. Committee Member Secretary Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Md Asif Iqbal said the regular meeting of the hospital management committee was delayed due to the impact of Covid-19.
Shibalaya Upazila Executive Officer Jasmine Sultana, Upazila Vice Chairmen Miraj Hossain Lalon andRunaAkter, Family Planning Officer Mridul Kumar Acharya, Sanitary Inspector Hamida Yasmin, District Council Member MA Quddus, AruaUP Chairman Akhtaruzzaman Khan Masum, Journalist Babul Akhtar Manzur, Principal Mohammad YounusAli among other spoke at the function. The speakers said that the 50-bed hospital located on the side of Dhaka-Aricha highway needs to be staffed with doctors, nurses, trauma center, modern ambulance service and broker-free environment.
