Abducted minor boy’s body recovered

Police recovered an abducted minor boy’s dead body from an abundant rice mill nearby mahila collage under Dupchanchia upazila of Bogra district recently. The deceased was identified Abdur Rahman,8, son of Nazrul Islam Potertry village under Dupchanchia upazila of the district. Police said Abdur Rahman was abducted 20 day back from the way of his Madrasa. On the following day local see the hanging dead body and informed police. Based on the information police rushed the spot and sent the dead body to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical Collage and Hospital morgue for autopsy. Officer-in-charge of Dupchanchi police station Riaz Ahmaed confirms the incident. Preparation of killing case with local police station is going on in this connection.
Cop killed in M’bazar road crash

Police constable was killed in a road accident in Satgaon area of under Srimangal-Habiganj Road of Srimangal Upazila of the district on Wednesday . The deceased was identified as Abdul Latif, 50 son of late Asraful Islam Sadar Upazila under Mymensing district. He was a constable of Sayestaganj Highway police station. Witnesses said a rashly driven driver uncontrolled the car and hit him when he cross the road on the spot dead. Contacted, Office-in-charge of Srimangal Police station Md. Abdullah said, it is the cause of drivers negligence.
College student ‘commits suicide’ in Sylhet

A college student allegedly hanged himself in his room of a student dormitory in Sylhet on Sunday evening. The deceased was identified as Pinku Pal, 19, a third year graduation student of Sylhet Polytechnic College at Dakkhin Surma in the city. Police sources the said, Pinku’s father Shashi Pal was a resident of Muktagachha upazila in Mymensingh, Informed by local people, a team of Dakkhin Surma police recovered Pinku’s body hanging from the ceiling in his room at a student mess near Kazirkhala mosque at Boroikandi in the city at around 8:00pm on Sunday, the sources said. Dakkhin Surma police officer-in-charge Ranjan Samanta confirmed the recovery of the body and said the reason behind the death could not be ascertained immediately. He said the body was sent to the Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for postmortem examination.
SUST awards 10 students for writing on science

Ten students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology have been awarded for writing articles and fictions on science. SUST vice-chancellor Aminul Haque Bhuiyan as chief guest handed over the awards at a programme held at the mini-auditorium on the campus Sunday evening, campus sources said. The lone science affairs student organisation of the university, SUST Science Arena, in association with i-ferry.com, an online portal, arranged the competition. More than 100 students of different disciplines of the university participated in two categories of the contests, the organisers said. Among the 10 winner contestants, 2 were also selected as ‘favorite’ by the readers’ votes, they said.
