Railway Day observed at Ishwardi

A discussion meeting was arranged on the occasion of Railway Day at Ishwardi Junction under Paksey Division. on Monday. the divisional Engineer Abdur Rahim addressed the programme as the chief guest.
He said if the current setup is right, Bangladesh Railway would be able to reach the European standard including India within the next forty one years as per the Prime Minister’s dream. Paksey Railway Divisional Commercial Officer Nasir Uddin presided over the function. Iqbal Haider, President of Paksey Branch of Sramik League and Aslam Uddin, General Secretary of Ishwardi branch spoke on the occasion. The day was inaugurated by cutting cakes, flying pigeons and Earlier, a colorful rally paraded through the town and railway area from the level crossing.
Construction worker electrocuted

An construction worker named Md. Abu Bakkar Siddique (25) died after being electrocuted in Gafargaon of Mymensingh. The incident took place at around 11 am on Wednesday at Chandni intersection in the municipal town. The deceased was identified as Abubakkar Siddique, son of Chaidul Islam from Rouha village under Saltia union of Gafargaon upazila. According to local sources, construction worker Abubakar Siddique fell to the ground after being electrocuted by a power transmission line while constructing a multi-storey building at Siddique Market.
Juba League leader Badal, the uncle of the deceased, said, “My nephew was electrocuted while working on the construction of a multi-storey building in Market .”
Power pressure, reaper machines distributed

At the initiative of Guimara Upazila Agriculture Department of Khagrachhari District, Power Pressure Machine for harvesting paddy and Reaper machine for threshing paddy were distributed among the local farmers on Wednesday. Guimara UNO Tushar Ahmed distributed these agricultural implements as the chief guest. Among others, Upazila Women Vice-Chairman, Upazila Agriculture Officer and Guimara Government High School headmaster were present.
According to the sub-district agriculture officer, under the agricultural mechanization project, seven farmers were given paddy threshing power pressure machines and every farmer was given paddy reaper machine.
