Dutch expertise in agriculture can benefit BD

Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Rizwan Rahman on Wednesday said that Bangladesh can be benefitted from Dutch expertise in agricultural technical know-how.
“The Netherlands is strong enough in the agricultural sector and Bangladeshi entrepreneurs can get their technical know-how,” he said while meeting with Ambassador of the Netherlands to Bangladesh Anne Van Leeuwen at DCCI in the city, said a press release.
Rizwan Rahman said that the bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Netherlands is US$ 1.23 billion where Bangladesh imported $138 million and exported $1.09 billion.
Anne Van Leeuwen said that the Netherlands is the 2nd largest agricultural products exporter in the world.

Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Wednesday urged Russian entrepreneurs to invest in Bangladesh’s industries such as fertilizer, cement, leather and shipbuilding.
He made the call during a meeting with the Russian ambassador in Dhaka Alexander Vikentyevich Mantytskiy at the ministry secretariat in the capital, reads a press release.
“The demand for fertilizers is more in Bangladesh as it is an agricultural country. Joint investment can also be increased in different sectors of the country including cement, light engineering, leather, ceramic, medicine, paper, shipbuilding and chemical,” the minister said.

Paperfly sends legal notice to Evaly over Tk70m dues

Paperfly, the country’s largest tech-bound logistic network, has sent a legal notice to the controversial e-commerce company Evaly over outstanding payments.
Evaly owes several millions of takas to Paperfly, however, the platform didn’t settle the bill worth Tk 70 million since January, officials told media.
“Paperfly has been giving doorstep delivery service to Evaly for quite some time and was facing a massive challenge to recover outstanding payments. Besides, Evaly didn’t respond to any query despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, and Paperfly now preparing to take legal action against the company,” said Farreen Mansur, revenue assurance manager at Paperfly.
