Submit VAT info of non-resident service providers

Bangladesh Bank (BB) has asked all scheduled banks to submit the information of VAT statement deducted from non-resident service providers, including Facebook, Google and Amazon.
The central bank has instructed the scheduled banks to send the statement of the VAT deducted by the banks from the non-resident institutions to members (VAT policy) of the National Board of Revenue
(NBR) within the seven days of the next month, as per a BB circular issued on Wednesday.
BB gave the instruction as per a decision of the meeting at NBR on June 24, 2021.
4 mutual funds
report positive earnings, approves dividends

Four mutual funds reported positive earnings and approved cash dividends to their unit holders on Wednesday in separate filings with Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
The cash dividends were approved based on the net income and retained earnings for the year ended on June 30, 2021.
The mutual funds are: AB Bank 1st Mutual Fund, EBL NRB Mutual Fund, Popular Life First Mutual Fund, and PHP First Mutual Fund.
AB Bank 1st Mutual Fund approved an 8% cash dividend. In its DSE filing, the fund said that its earnings per unit (EPU) was Tk2.61 for the year ended on June 30, 2021, up from Tk1.8 in the negative for the previous financial year.
The mutual fund made its debut on DSE on January 29, 2021, and the closing price for each of its units was Tk7.4 during Wednesday’s session.
Meanwhile, EBL NRB Mutual Fund approved a 6% cash dividend. The fund reported an EPU of Tk1.92 for the year ended on June 30, 2021, up from Tk1.35 in the negative for the same period of the previous year.
The closing price for each of its units was also Tk7.4.
Moreover, Popular Life First Mutual Fund approved an 8.5% cash dividend for the year ended on June 30, 2021.
The fund also reported EPU of Tk2.08 for the year ended on June 30, up from Tk1.23 in the negative for the same period of the previous year.
Its closing price was Tk6.9.
Finally, PHP First Mutual Fund has approved another 8.5% cash dividend. The fund reported EPU of Tk2.04 for the year ended on June 30, 2021, up from Tk1.23 in the negative for the same period of the last year.
The closing price for each of its units was Tk7.2 during Wednesday’s session.
PICL Q2 earnings rise

The Q2 (April-June) earnings of Pioneer Insurance Company Ltd rose by 26.13%.
In a filing with Dhaka Stock Exchange on Wednesday, the insurance company said that its earnings per share (EPS) was Tk2.51 for April-June 2021 as against Tk1.99 for the same period of the previous year.
Meanwhile, its net asset value (NAV) per share was Tk54.32 as of June 30, 2021, and Tk49.75 as of December 31, 2020.
Pioneer Insurance Company last offered 20% cash dividend back in the year 2019. During Wednesday’s trade, the closing price for each of its shares was Tk141.6, said a press release.
