Ctg port slips in global ranking

Chittagong port ranked 67 on the list of top 100 ports published by UK-based ‘Lloyd’s List’, a global publication of port and shipping depending on the busyness of ports across the world.
The country’s main seaport handled 2,839,977 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) containers in 2020, down by 8 per cent compared to 2019 when it handled 3,088,187 TEU containers. Chittagong port ranked 58 on the list last year.
The ranking of the busiest ports of the world is based on the previous year’s performance, which was released on Monday night.

Sea Pearl declares 1pc dividend

Sea Pearl Beach Resort & Spa Limited has recommended only a 1% cash dividend for the year ended on June 30, 2021.
In a filing with Dhaka Stock Exchange on Monday, the company said that its earnings per share (EPS) was Tk0.61 for the year ended on June 30, 2021 as against Tk0.09 in the negative for the same period of the previous financial year.
Meanwhile, its net asset value (NAV) per share stood at Tk10.63, said a press release.
Sea Pearl Beach Resort & Spa Limited made its debut on Dhaka Stock Exchange back on July 16, 2019. The closing price for each of its shares was Tk41.8 during Monday’s session.

RLICL offers 15pc dividend

Rupali Life Insurance Company Limited (RLICL) has recommended 13% cash and 2% stock dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2020.
In a filing with Dhaka Stock Exchange on Monday, the company said it declared bonus shares because the consulting actuary of the company has assessed the valuation surplus and recommended a 15% dividend for the year 2020.

US-Bangla to
operate regular flights to Muscat from Sept 1

US-Bangla Airlines has decided to operate regular flights on Dhaka-Muscat-Dhaka route from 1 September.
The private carrier will operate direct flights from Dhaka to Muscat on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. For the rest of the days, flights from Dhaka will go to Muscat via Chattogram.
At the same time, direct flights between Muscat and Dhaka will be available on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday while the flights will travel to Dhaka via Chattogram on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
