College student electrocuted

Parthajit Mondol (23), a student of 3rd year Honours Class of Bagerhat Govt. P. C. College and the only son of one Prankrisna Mondol of village Khiligati under Chitalmari Upazila in Bagerhat district met his tragic end when he was electrocuted in his own house recently. Sources added, at the night a religious function was being held in their house premises where electricity was supplied from the house. But there was, perhaps, a leakage in the line and when Parthajit touched the leaked electricity line without his knowledge he was electrocuted. While he was being taken to Upazila Health Complex for his treatment he expired on his way.
Child missing in Panguchi River
Hasib Molla (11), a student of Class-II of No.88 Fulhata Govt. Primary School and son of one Milon Talukdar of Paschim Baharbunia village under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district was missing in the adjacent Panguchi River recently while he was taking bath in the river with his fellow mates. It is learnt from his fellow mates that at the time of taking bath in the river he was swept away by the strong current of the river and was missing. On information, a fire service unit of Morrelganj rushed to the spot. Sonjoy Kumar Deb, Station officer of Morrelganj fire serviced station told, we are trying our best to recover the boy from the river. He added, a diving unit of Khulna fire service station is also working with us.
Jute stick machine distributed in Rangpur

Securing Employment and Economic Development around Jute Textile and Light Engineering Sector in North-West Bangladesh(PRISM) Project, Funded by: European Commission Venue Practical Action Regional Office Rangpur on Monday .Practical Action has manufactured three 03 Charcoal producing machine under” Securing Employment and Economic Development around Jute Textile and Light Engineering Sector in North-West Bangladesh(PRISM) Project” funded by European Commission(EC). During extraction of Jute fiber from jute plant by Jute fiber Extraction Machine, the jute sticks breaks in small size. This broken jute stick would be crushed by crushing machine and this crushed jute stick would be mixed with rice husk and this mixture will be used to produce charcoal. Jute stick is highly flammable and so this charcoal will produce more heat. These 03 machine will be installed in Targong, Sundergonj and Ulipur upazilla of Rangpur ,Gaibandh and Kurigram district respectively. These three machine are manufactured at local engineering workshop in Rangpur with the technical support of Practical Action Technical Team.
