Illegal structures removed in Jashore

A mobile court demolished some 500 illegal establishments, including shops, dwelling houses and hotel-restaurants, in Noapara Railway Station area in Abhaynagar upazila of Jashore district. The mobile court, led by railway divisional land officer Mohammad Nuruzzaman, in the presence of high officials conducted the drive and demolished the illegal structures. The railway authorities asked the owners of different establishments built occupying government land to vacate the land. Additional police were also deployed to maintain law and order during the eviction drive.
Light Engineering Products, Tech Fair begins

A three day- long National Light Engineering Products and Technology Fair was started in Saidpur recently. The fair was organised jointly by the Light Engineering Product Promotion Council and under the Ministry of Commerce, Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association. The fair was inaugurated and held at Saidpur Railway GRP Club. Member of Parliament of Women Reserved Seats Rabeya Alim inaugurated the fair as the Chief Guest. Divisional Superintendent (DS) of Saidpur Railway workshop Md. Joydul Islam and Saidpur Upazila Awami League President, Akhtar Hossain Badal was present as the Special Guest. Ershad Hossain Pappu, Presided over the inaugural ceremony of the fair with a warm welcoming speech. The keynote speaker was the Chairman of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association. Abdul Razzaq. Among others, Member of Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association and Prominent Industrialist Raj Kumar Poddar, Md. Shamsul Alam Babu spoke at the programme. Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association Office Secretary, Nur Uddin Dulal presented the whole inaugural event. A total of 30 stalls held at the three-day long fair. And all these stalls have different products and technologies related to Light Engineering Industry. The stalls will be open from 10 am to 8 pm daily. The fair will be concluded through the closing ceremony on February 25.
Two persons arrested , cops closed in Jamalpur

A father -in -law Jamal Uddin, 65, and mother-in-law Rojina Begum (55) were sent to jail in Sarisabari, in the Jamalpur district on Saturday . On the other hand, ASI Humayun Kabir and constable Jahanara Begum were withdrawn after the civil dress went under arrest on Saturday night. It is reported that, Tejgaon Police Station’s case was registered against Mamataz Begum, wife of Obaidur Rahman of Bongram of Sarisabari Upazila, on the same day. The two police ASI Humayun Kabir and Constable Jahanara Begum of Sarisabari Police Station and went to arrest Mamtaz Begum, in a white dress on Thursday afternoon. Locals arrested two policemen on suspicion of fake police.  On receiving the news, police went to the police station and rescued the two policemen. At the same time, the accused’s mother-in-law was arrested. Sarisabari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Majedur Rahman confirmed the matter.
