Student killed in Baraigram road accident

A school student Prechi Rozario (5) was killed in a road accident at Satiyangaca under Baraigram upazila recently on Bonpara-Satiyangaca Road. She was crossing the road beside her house. At that time, an autorickshaw-driver failed to control his vehicle and the rickshaw ran over her. She was then taken at Bonpara Amina Hospital by the killer rickshaw and admitted to the hospital. At that time the driver of the rickshaw went away with his vehicle. On the other side, Prechi Rozario died under treatment. She was a daughter of Prokash Rozario of the village Satiyangaca and student of class one of the Bonpara Saint Pitars Academy under Baraigram upazila, She was buried on Monday.
Four of fraudulent gang held in Barishal

Police arrested four members of a fraudulent gang for collecting money by cheating through mobile money transfer bikash services. Khairul Alam, Deputy Commissioner (north) of Barishal Metropolitan Police, said a Khadem of a mosque of Sylhet lodging a case with south Surma police station of Sylhet on February 17 alleged that Tk. 25 thousand of a Masjid-fund was fraudulently misappropriated through bikash mobile money transfer system. Then police contacted with the bikash office informed that the money was collected through a bikash agent of Kawnia area under Barishal city. Then Barishal Metropolitan Police was informed about the matter and BMP operating drive on Wednesday with the help of that bikash agent of Kawnia arrested Har Bilash Bala, 30, his wife Bina Rani Bala, 25, their cohorts Snjoy Mandol, 21, Prankrishna Mandol, 20, after determining their addresses at Rajoir of Madaripur and Vanga of Faridpur districts. The arrestees sent to jail after producing before the court on Wednesday afternoon, said Azimul Karim, officer in charge of Kawnia police station of BMP.
Meeting on early marriage, anti-drug held in K’ganj

Bangladesh Radio including Kishoreganj District police arranged a discussion on against early marriage, anti-drug and healthy food activities with school students at SP’s office conference hall on Tuesday afternoon. Police Super (SP) Md. Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar) attended as Chief Guest while Bangladesh Radio Programmed Producer Sajib Kumar Datta in the chair. It was addressed among others by Additional SP Nazmul Islam, Additional SP Mizanur Rahman, District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal, CAB Presidnet Alam Sarowar Tito, School Teacher Azizul Hoque, School Student’s Esha and Sadia. Senior ASP Mahabubul Haque Sajib, Senior Journalist of Daily Ittefaq Subir Basak and others dignified persons were also present. At least 100 students joined the programmes.
