Founding anniversary of BAUET held in Natore

Bangladesh Army University of Engineering & Technology (BAUET) celebrated it’s 5th founding anniversary at the campus premises by hoisting national and university flags by Vice-Chancellor Brig. Gen. M. Mustafa Kamal and Treasurer Colonel Muhammad Hamidul Hauque, psc (retd) on Saturday. BAUET was founded at Dayarampur under Bagatipara upzila of Natore district. A rally was brought out from campus and paraded the main streets at of Dayarampur and finished at Campus with the spontaneous participation of students, teachers and officials. After the rally, a special prayer is also offered and ended by distributing sweets among the participations.
Child drowns in Sharankhola

A 5 years old boy named Mahim Khan met his tragic end when he was drowned in a pond in the village Parerhat within Khontakata Union Parisahd under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district recently . The ill-fated boy was the son of one Mizan Khan of village Uttar Kadamtala within Rayenda Union Parishad under the same Upazila. The locals said, on Thursday afternoon the boy went to his maternal grandfather’s residence at Parerhat along with his parents in order to a visit ther. In the following morning the boy was missing. After a long search it was guessed that the boy was, perhaps, drowned and accordingly, the dead body of the boy was recovered from an adjacent pond.
Coordination meeting of NGOs held in Rangpur

A day-long NGOs coordination meeting was held at NGO Forum Conference Room in Rangpur Sadar yesterday. Rangpur Community Eye Hospital organised the day long meeting with the financial assistance of UKAID under sightsavers “Right to health Project”. Md Rafique, Programme Manager, Sightsavers presented the keynote paper at the meeting. Community Eye Hospital representative Abu Nasar Faizur Rahaman addressed the meeting. The meeting was attended by 38 representatives of different NGOs.
BIFPCL organised painting competition

On the occasion of Mujib Borsho, Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company (Pvt.) Limited (BIFPCL) organised painting competition at Sunderban Mahila College of Rampal upazila on Friday where 200 students of 15 schools of Rampal and Mongla participated and drawn various photos of father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Dr. Sultan Shamed, Secretary, Power Division attended the prize distribution programme as Chief Guest while Managing Director of BIFPCL Naresh Anand presided over the programme. Among others, Joint Secretary of Power Sector Nurul Alom, Deputy Secretary Md. Nazmul Abedin, Project Director SC Pandey, chief engineer Mahabubur Rahama, Deputy Project Amd. Rezaul Karim, Rampal attended the function as special guests. Among others, Rampal UNO Tushar Kumar Paul, Sidharth Mondal, DGM (HR), Tariqul Islam, DM (HR), BIFPCL, Mallick Sudhangsu, President of Khulna TV Reporters Unity and eminent local personalities were present at the function.
