World Cancer Day observed in Nandail

The World Cancer Day was observed by Nandail Upazila Health Complex in Mymensingh and in collaboration with the Non-Communicable Disease Control Program of the Department of Health. A rally was held on Tuesday slogan on “I am, I will stay, fight cancer” chaired by Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Iqbal Ahmed Nasser. Dr. Manjurul Haque, Dr. Abdullah Mamun, Dr. Debashis Das, Dr. Mohammed Akhaied addressed the meeting at the Upazila Health Complex Auditorium after the rally. Nandail Health Complex physicians, nurses, deputy community medical officers, sanitary inspectors, health inspectors, assistant health inspectors, health assistants and other officials were present in the meeting. During the meeting Dr. Abdullah Mamun emphasized the importance of keeping the cancer healthy environment, adulterated food, safe from contamination waste in the mill, safe from attacks of various viruses, smoking and smoking in tobacco products.
Int’l journalist team organisation visits Jamalpur

An international network of free journalists organisation Mokto Prokash delegate visited Jamalpur on Tuesday. The delegation visited with the Deputy Commissioner, Police Administration, civil society and media personnel to investigate into the brutal attack on journalist Shelu Akando and demanded punishment to the terrorists. The delegate inquired about the findings of the journalist family. At the Circuit House meeting, the delegate heard the horrific story of the terrorist attack on journalist Shelu Akando in Jamalpur and about the role of local journalists, the administration and the political. Finally, Deputy Commissioner Enamul Haque and Additional Superintendent of Police Basir Uddin also exchanged views. Journalist Shelu expressed satisfaction at the administration’s urgency and role for ensuring justice. Smuggler held with 10 gold bars at Benapole

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested an alleged gold smuggler in a drive along with 10 gold bars, weighing about six kilograms from Sadipur border in Benapole Port police station on Wednesday evening. The arrestee was identified as Jihad Ali 35 , son of Tahajjot Ali of the port police station. Lt Col Salim Reja , Commanding Officer , 49 Border Guard said , a team of BGB , acting on a tip-off, arrested Jihad Ali along with 10 pieces of gold bars while he was going to India through Sadipur Border at around 5:30pm, The total value of the gold is Tk 70 lakh. Later , BGB men filed a cases and handed over the smuggler to Benapole Port Police.
