EU top diplomat expected in Tehran today

Top EU diplomat Josep Borrell is expected in Tehran Monday, Iran’s foreign ministry announced a day ahead of the visit, amid new tensions over the Iranian nuclear issue.
Borrell “will visit Iran tomorrow for the first time since taking office (in early december). He is set to meet the foreign minister (Mohammad Javad Zarif) and other Iranian senior officials for consultations,” foreign ministry spokesperson Abbas Moussavi said in a statement.
Twenty killed in Tanzanian church stampede

At least 20 people in Tanzania were trampled to death at an open-air evangelical Christian church service in the north of the country, officials said on Sunday.
Government official Kippi Warioba, District Commissioner in the northern town of Moshi, said he feared the number of dead could still rise from the accident, which took place on Saturday afternoon.
Kosovo parties sign long-awaited deal to form govt

Kosovo’s two biggest parties reached a deal on Sunday to create a new government almost four months after the Balkan country held snap elections following the prime minister’s resignation.
Albin Kurti, the 44-year-old leader of the leftist Vetevendosje (Self Determination) party said he would become prime minister under the deal and work with the centre-right Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and other groups.
Gun battle kills 7 including 3 police in Afghanistan

Seven fighters including three police and four insurgents have been killed as clash erupted in Ali Abad district of northern Kunduz province on Sunday, district governor Amanudin Qurishi said.
A group of Taliban militants attacked security checkpoints in Kisatopak area of the restive district at 3:00 a.m. local time on Sunday and police retaliated forcing the militants to flee after leaving four bodies behind.
Three police personnel have also been killed and four others wounded in the fighting, the official confirmed.
