Qatar appoints new Prime Minister

Qatar’s ruler appointed a new prime minister on Tuesday, the state news agency reported, replacing veteran regime insider Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
New Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani previously headed up the office of gas-rich Qatar’s ruler, Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, according to the government website.

11 die in Lahore

A factory caught fire late Monday night in Pakistan’s eastern city of Lahore which left 11 people dead, an official said on Tuesday morning.
Chief of the rescue operation team Rana Ijaz Ahmad told media that a perfume-making factory caught fire after a gas cylinder exploded, which also engulfed a residential block adjacent to the factory.

10 killed, 18 injured in central Iran bus accident

At least 10 people were killed in a passenger bus accident near Iran’s central city of Isfahan on Tuesday morning, Iranian media reported.
The accident happened in Sepahan Shahr of Isfahan when the bus turned over, according to Khabar Fouri news website. In the accident, 18 other passengers were injured. The accident was caused by the sleeping driver, the Traffic Police Center of Isfahan province said.

Su-30 fighter jet crashes in Algeria

A Su-30 fighter jet crashed in Oum El Bouaghi, a municipality in northeastern Algeria, late on Monday, An-Nahar TV channel reported. According to preliminary data, two pilots, who were onboard the fighter jet, died.
Doctors and security services have been sent to the crash site. Since 2006, Algeria has signed several contracts with Russia on the delivery of Su-30 MKI (A) fighter jets.
