Pak to impose curbs on media coverage of convicts, absconders

Pakistan government has decided to impose curbs on media coverage of convicts and absconders, in a purported move to gag Opposition leaders who use it for their “benefit.”
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan said the decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting presided by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday, the Dawn newspaper reported.
Human remains found in search for Chilean plane

Rescuers have found human remains during the search for a Chilean air force plane that went missing en route to Antarctica with 38 people aboard, a provincial government leader said on Wednesday.
Search teams are combing waters off the southern tip of South America for any sign of the C-130 Hercules transport aircraft, which disappeared late Monday.

Turkey sends Libya maritime accord to UN for approval

Turkey on Thursday sent its accord with Libya on a maritime boundary between the two countries to the United Nations for approval, a Turkish diplomatic source said, despite objections from Greece that the agreement violates international law.
Two weeks ago, Libya’s internationally recognised government and Turkey signed the maritime delimitation agreement, in a move that escalated disputes over potential offshore gas reserves in the eastern Mediterranean.
