Two bldgs of Govt College inaugurated at Bhangura

Alhaj Md Mokbul Hossain, Member of Parliament from Pabna-3 and the Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Land Ministry inaugurated the newly constructed four-stored two buildings of Government Haji Jamal Uddin Degree (Hons) College and Government Bhangura Union School and College in Bhangra Upazila of Pabna on Saturday. Among others, Syed Asrafujjaman, President of those college, Md Shahiduzzaman and Md Rafiqul Islam, Principal of those college, Vice Principal Alhaj Mahmuda Khatun, Md Masud Rana,Officer in charge of Bhangura Thana, Md Nazmul Haque OC(Investigation), Prof Mahbub-Ul-Alom , President of Bhangura Press Club, Senior Vice President Lecturer Giash Uddin, Zilla Parishad Member Aslam Ali and Gulshanara Parvin Lipi, Upazila Vice Chairman Golam Hafiz Ranju and Azida Khatun Pakhi were present in the occasion .
Man held with arms in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI : Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested an alleged top-listed firearm-trader with two foreign-made firearms and ammunition in Rajshahi district on Saturday night. The arrested person identified as Ameer Chand, 23, is a son of Tamiz Uddin of Narayanpur village in Porsha upazila of Naogaon district. Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in Chowdala village of Gomastapur upazila around 9:45 pm and arrested Ameer Chand with two foreign-made pistols, three magazines and nine rounds of bullet.The arrested person along with the seized firearms and ammunition was *handed over to police. A case has been filed with Gomostapur Police Station in this connection, reports BSS.
Cultural function on rivers held at Gopalganj

A cultural function based on rivers was held in Gopalganj on Saturday evening. The programme was organised by District Shilpakala Academy, Gopalganj. On the occasion of the day programme, a discussion meeting was held at the bank of the River Modhumoti in Gopalganj town. Sheikh Luthfar Rahman Bacchu, Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman, Gopalganj, Khondaker Ehea Khaled, General secretary, District Shilpakala Academy, Gopalganj and Rajiuddin Khan, Executive member of the task of District Shilpakala Academy, Gopalganj spoke at the cultural programme. Shahida Sultana, Deputy Commissioner , Gopalganj presided over the function as Chief guest.
US delegation visits TMSS in Bogura

A delegation of American Bangladesh Business Development Group , USA visited the Thengamara Mahila Sabuj Sangha (TMSS) activities in Bogura recently. On the day former US Congressman Larry Lorac, Business Development Officer Aktar Hossain, Director Robert Ligat, and Director (Asia Pacific Region) Engineer Zulfa Alam Haider Mohamad are the team leaders of the American Bangladesh Business Development delegation have visited TMSS office premises to expand the helping hand. Along with, they visited TMSS Public School and College, BCL Ceramic Industry, BCL Board Mills, Cold Storage, TMSS Institute of Science and ICT, TMSS Technical Institute, TMSS Engineering College. Following the inspection, the TMSS Foundation met with members of the organization’s management coordination meeting in the conference room. Former US Congressman Larry Lorac, Robert Ligat, Director of the American Bangladesh Business Development Group and founding executive director of TMSS Dr Hosne Ara were speaking at the meeting marking important of the visits.Senior officials including Hossain Ara Begum, Advisor Mohammad Anwarul Islam Bachchu and Director Md Khorshed Alam were present here.
