Discussion meeting on fisheries and aquaculture research collaboration between Perl River Fisheries Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Fishery Science and the Faculty of Fisheries, Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh was held at Fisheries faculty conference room of BAU in Mymensingh on Monday. Prof Xinping Zhu, Deputy Head, Associate Prof Minghui Lin, Jian Zhao, Research Assistant Chen Chen and Haiyang Liu of Perl River Fisheries Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Fishery Science, Yang Yong of Guangdong Nutriera Group in Chaina and Prof Dr. Ahsan bin Habib Dean Faculty of Fisheries,Prof DrGiasUddinahmed former Dean Faculty of Fisheries, Prof Dr.MahfujulHaquecoordinator of this programme of Bangladesh Agricultural University and senior teachers of the Faculty and invited guests were present in the ceremony among others.
Workshop on Consortium for youth work in Education

A three day -long international training workshop on consortium for youth work in Commonwealth Higher Education (CHEC4YW) commence on Wednesday at the BRAC CDM, Rajendrapur, Gazipur. Prof Dr. M A Mannan, Vice Chancellor, Bangladesh Open University formally inaugurate the workshop and also chaired the opening session. He said that the Young people are the vital resources of the country. They need adequet tools to develope themself. He further added that Youth Education will build the capacity of Youth of the country and can develop themself with economic empowerment. Among others who spoke in the inaugural session of the workshop are Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Khondoker Mokaddem Hossain, Dr Amina Osman, Adviser, Education Economic, Youth & Sustainable Development Directorate, Commonwealth Secretariat, London and Anwarul Islamn Sarker, Addl. Secretary Ministry of Youth and Sports. A total of 60 representative from BOU, Youth Training Center, Saver, Youth Training Center Bogura, Sheikh Hasina National institute of Youth developmet, NGOs, DYDW students and 14 foreign delegates from UK, India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka are also attaining in the workshop. Registrar Dr. Md. Shafiqul Alam and Md. Abul Kasem Shikder, Director Informaton & Public Relations Division were present inaugural session. The Organizing Partners of Workshop are Commonwealth Secretariat, University of the West Indies and Commonwealth of Learning.
