Iran’s Revolutionary Guards on Thursday praised the armed forces for taking “timely” action against “rioters” and said calm had returned after days of unrest sparked by a hike in petrol prices.
The protests erupted across the sanctions-hit country on November 15, hours after the price of petrol was raised by as much as 200 percent.
Three navy ships held by Russia return to Ukraine port

Three navy vessels that Moscow seized last year and handed back to Ukraine have arrived at a Ukrainian port, though Kiev said they were stripped of equipment.
The Nikopol, the Berdyansk and the Yany Kapu were seized in November last year in the Kerch Strait, in the most serious confrontation between Russia and Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict in east Ukraine in 2014.
Mexicans sue Walmart over El Paso shooting

Mexico’s government said Wednesday it has helped 10 Mexican citizens file lawsuits against Walmart over an August shooting at a store in El Paso, Texas, where a suspected white nationalist killed 22 people.
“The objective of these suits, presented in El Paso county, is to hold the company responsible for not taking reasonable and necessary measures to protect its clients from the attack,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.
Nigerian air force destroys Boko Haram’s meeting venue

The Nigerian air force (NAF) said Wednesday that it has wiped out one of terror group Boko Haram’s meeting venues in the northeastern Nigerian state of Borno. The operation by the NAF also led to the death of several Boko Haram leaders, NAF spokesperson Ibikunle Daramola said in a statement. The operation was conducted on Tuesday following intelligence reports that some Boko Haram leaders had gathered for a meeting within a settlement.
