Drug peddler held with firearms, Yaba in Barguna

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a drug dealer and recovered firearms, bullets and yaba tablets from Amtali area in the Barguna district town on Sunday morning. The arrested identified as Kawsar, 40, is a resident of Post office road area in the district town. Acting on a secret information, a RAB team led by Senior ASP ShoyebAhmed Khan operated a drive at Kawsar’s residence at about 5 am and arrested him in procession of a country-made pistol, three round bullets and 200 pieces of Yaba tablets, said Patuakhali camp commander of RAB-8 and Additional SP Md Raish Uddin. Later, he was handed over to Amtali thana police. Abul Bashar, OC of Amtali thana, said 14 cases already are under investigation against Kawsar. At least 5 members of his family are involved in illegal drug business and several cases have been lodged against them with Amtali thana in this connections.
JSD conference held

Kishoreganj District Conference of Jatiay Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) (Rab), was held at District Bar Library on Saturday afternoon. JSD, President and Former Minister ASM Abdur Rab attended as chief guest while District Committee President Adv Md. Abdur Rahman presided over the meeting. It was addressed among others by JSD Vice-President Tania Rab, Shafiqul Islam, Bar President Adv Miah Md. Ferdous, Misses Shelly and Saiful Haque Bakul Mollah. A new committee was formed with Adv Md. Abdur Rahman and Saiful Hoque (Bakul Mollah) as President and General Secretary respectively.
One held with huge illegal arms, drugs in Kaliganj
RANGPUR: Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) 13 arrested an alleged notorious drug trader with huge illegal arms, ammunition and phensidyl from Chandrapur Bazaar in Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat in the small hours of on Sunday . “On a tip off, a smart operational team of the Crime Prevention Specialized Company of RAB-13 from its Rangpur headquarters conducted a raid and arrested the drug trader with huge arms, ammunition, drugs and money,” a press release said. The arrested person could be identified as Khairuzzaman alias Khoyer alias Jamal, 32, son of late Taslim Uddin of village Chandrapur in Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat district. The elite force seized a foreign-made pistol with a magazine , two rounds of live bullets, two one shooter guns, 72 bottles of phensidyl syrup, a mobile phone set, two SIM cards, one memory card and Taka 7,000 cash money from his possession, reports BSS.
