3 arrested with yaba tablets in Sylhet

A Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) team arrested three Yaba peddlers along with 600 pieces of Yaba tablets from Salutikor area of Goainghat upazila of Sylhet on Sunday evening.The arrestee were identified as Nurul Haque, 40, resident of Dorakul village of Comapyganj upazila, Ishak Ali, resident Salutikor area and Mohammad Liakot Ali, resident of Sahebbazaar area of the upazila.
Two trucks set on fire
Two trucks were set afire in South Surma area in Sylhet Sunday noon. The drivers of the Two trucks – Alauddin and Mahbub – were injured while trying to escape the burn, the latter was admitted to Osmani Medical College hospital. Truck driver Alauddin said 10 men riding on five motorcycles obstructed the truck in front of the Kadamtali mosque while he was going to Gotatikar in South Surma from Sherpur.They smashed the glass in front of the truck and poured petrol and set on fire. However, the locals immediately rushed to extinguish the fire.At that time, the miscreants vandalized three easy-bikes.Meanwhile, at around 3pm in front of Mominkhola Star Light school in South Surma, miscreants threw petrol bombs on another truck. The truck helper Kuti Mia said they were going to Daspara under Sylhet Sadar Upazila from Shayestaganj. After arriving Mominkhola, eight men in four motorbikes stopped the truck.The truck caught fire after they threw a petrol bomb. The front part of the truck was damaged.
Ekushey Boi Mela held in Bogra

Govt. Azzizul Haque College , Bogra organised Ekushey Boi Mela. In this very month eternal young sons of Bengal mother have established Bengali language developing a stream of their tender blood to make this month memorable forever. The greatest educational institution of north Bengle Govt Azzizul Haque College Bogra has arranged a pompous Amor ekusey boi mela and orphans cultural program at the college premises. This book fair has been started from the 1st February and it will long last for 20 February .After establishing in 1939 the college authority has taken first step to arrange such type of program. The fair is by the well consistency with 23 departments of this college. There are total 32 stalls in this fair. Among them 23 are of different department s banner and the rest 9 are of the banner of volunteered unit of this college and some local library the whole program is holding from every 3.00 pm of the day.There are about 130 to 150 writers books are place in every stale. Among them the large number of books are of new writers.
Housewife commits suicide in Jessore
BENAPOLE; A housewife allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her room at Swaruppur village in Chowgachha upazila of Jessore district on Tuesday morning. The deceased was identified as Nasrin Khatun,22, wife of Babu Hossain of the area. Family sources said Nasrin committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her room on Monday night following a dispute over family feud.
Later, she was rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to her injures on Tuesday morning.Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for an autopsy, reports UNB.
2 held with firearms in C’nawabganj

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested two men along with two pistols, 14 rounds of bullets and four magazines from Kanshat Pukuria area of Shibganj upazila on Sunday. The arrested were identified as Saddam Hossain, 18, son of Aminul Islam, resident of Pukuria Kazipara area and Hiron Mondol, 19, son of Taran Mondol, resident of Aliadanga area of the upazila.
