Bombs hurled at 2 Sylhet CNG re-fuelling stations

Miscreants in separate incidents hurled crude bombs at two CNG refuelling stations in the city on Wednesday. Police said a group of miscreants hurled a crude bomb at Monowar Filling Station around 10.00pm. However, no casualty was reported in the incident. Later police rushed to the spot and recovered the bomb. In another incident, a group of miscreants hurled a crude bomb at Habib Filling Station in Dakhsin Surma upazila around 9.00pm. On information, police visited the spot.
War crimes suspects held

Police arrested two alleged war criminals who committed crimes against humanity in the country’s Liberation War from Imambari Bazar in Nabiganj upazila of the district on Tuesday. Detective branch (DB) of Habiganj police conducted a raid and arrested Majibur Rahman Angur Mian, 65, the chairman of Khagaura union of the upazila, and his brother Mahibur Rahman Boro Mian, 70, former chairman of the same upazila, said sub-inspector Sudip Roy who led the raid. The International Crime Tribunal (ICT)-2 issued an arrest warrant against the duo in a case lodged with Habiganj Judicial Magistrate Cognizance-4 in 2009 by Bhingraj Bibi, wife of Akal Mian, a martyred freedom fighter.
