8 gamblers held in Dakshin Surma

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 8 gamblers from Lalabazar area under Dakshin Surma Upazila in the Sylhet District recently. Members of Rab-9 arrested eight gamblers from Lalabazar area at 10:30 pm, said Additional Police Superintendent, Md Mniruzzaman of RAB-9 (media). The arrestees were later handed over to the police of Dakshin Surma Police Station, he said.
Three drug traders held in Baraigram

Police arrested three drug traders for selling and taking drug materials in Baraigram under Natore district recently. They are Samim Hossain (32) son of Balal Hossain, Abdus Sobahan (38) son of Ziaur Rahman of the village Kalikapur and Saidur Rahman (26) son of Hossain Ali of the village Kumrul of Baraigram upazila. In charge Officer of Bonpara Police Dadantra Kendra Md Nazmul Haque confired this and said, we arrested them from a school ground Diyarpara Govt. Pri. School on Thursday night when they were drug materials. A case has been filed in this connection and sent them to Natore jail.
Digital Health card given to drivers in Khulna
KHULNA: Authorities has distributed digital health cards among professional motor drivers in Khulna to ensure their physical fitness as well as good health on Sunday. Drivers will be able to examine their health free of cost in every three month after showing their cards at Khulna general hospital. Aiming for implementation of safety road, Khulna District Administration, Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) of Khulna and Office of Khulna Civil Surgeon jointly implement the programme. To succeed the programme, the authorities have distributed 110 health cards among the professional drivers in the first phase as part of the programme. Parliament Member of Khulna-2 Constituency Sheikh Salahuddin Jewel distributed the cards in a function held at the conference room of deputy commissioner office as chief guest. A special discussion meeting was also held for building health awareness of the drivers. Organised by Khulna District Administration, DC Md. Helal Hossain presided over the meeting. Divisional Commissioner Md. Lokman Hossain Mia, Police Commissioner of KMP Khandakar Lutful Kabir, Police Super SM Shafiullah, Civil Surgeon of Khulna Dr. ASM Abdur Razzaq, Deputy Director of BRTA Md. Mohosin Hossain, Vice President of Bangladesh Road Transport WorkersFederation Abdur Rahim and President of Khulna Motor Workers Unioun Kazi Nurul Alom, among others spoke on the occasion, reports BSS.
One killed in Meherpur road accident
MEHERPUR: A man was killed in a road accident at Baut bazaar under Gangni upazila of the district on Saturday, police sources said. The deceased was identified as Aktar Hossain, 42, son of Abul Hossain of Hijalbaria village of the upazila. Police said the accident occurred on the Meherpur-Kushtia highway when a speedy lorry hit Akter from behind. He died on the spot. On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body, Obaidur Rahman, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Gangni police station, reports BSS.
