A strategy development workshop was held on protection of children from sexual abuse and drug addiction at JJS Khulna Development Center. Deputy Director, District Social Service Khulna, Khan Motahar Hossain, Deputy Director of District Women Affairs Office Khulna Nargis Fatema Zamin, District Child Affairs Officer, Khulna, Md. Abul Alam, Coordinator of BLAST Khulna Adv. Ashok Kumar Saha, Advocate Mominul Islam, Bangladesh Manobadhikar Bastobayonn Shanstha, Executive Director of JJS ATM Zakir Hossain and other officers were present in the programme. The total programme was facilitated by ATM Zakir Hossain, Executive Director JJS. It is discussed in the workshop that, there are many children in Khulna city who are at risk of being victims of sexual abuse and involving in drug addiction. To protect the children from sexual abuse and drag addiction JJS is going to implement a project titled’ Protection of Children from Sexual Abuse and Drug Addiction’ in support of KINDERNOTHILFE (KNH – Germany) in Khulna City Corporation area. In the morning session several group works were held to identify the key stakeholders and their roles, what and how to work on the issues. All out efforts sought to solve the problems.
Janmashatami observed in Gopalganj

The hindu community of Gopalganj elebrated Janmashatami ,a religious festival with a befitting manner recently. The programmes were included of the day like warship of Lord Krishna, Puja, Geeta Jagya, peace procession, religious discussion and prashad distribution. On the occasion Prof Dr. Khandokar Nasir Uddin, Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU), Gopalganj inaugurated at the centre temple of BSMRSTU as the chief guest. Where Sri Dr B K Bala, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, BSMRSTU, Sri Subrota Thakur, Chairman, Kasiani Upazila Parishad, Gopalganj, Srimoti Eshita Roy, General Secretary, Teachers Union, BSMRSTU, Gopalganj, Sri Kushol Boron Chakrobarti, President, eternal students association, Acharjya Purna Debananda Abadut, Anandamarg, New Delhi, India and Srik Tapash Bala, President, Eternal Association, BSMRSTU, Goapalganj were present as especial guests respectively. The peace procession organised by the association of eternal students of BSMRSTU, Gopalganj. The procession paraded main roads on Gopalganj-Tungipar Highway in the Gopalganj Sadar. After peace rally a religious discussion meeting and cultural function was held at central temple premises in BSMRSTU.
