Workshop on internal research review held at BARI

The ‘Internal Research Review and Planning Workshop-2019’ of Agricultural Statistics, Information and Communication Technology (ASICT) Division of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) has been held yesterday FMPE seminar room of the institute. BARI Director General Dr. Abul Kalam Azad inaugurated the workshop as chief guest. Director of Institute of Water and Flood Management of BUET Prof Dr. Sujit Kumar Bala chaired the workshop while BARI Director (Support Services) Dr. Babu Lal Nag was present as special guest. Former Director (Computer & GIS) of BARC, Mr. Md. Abeed Hossain Chowdhury and Head of Statistics Division and Director (IQAC) of IUBAT Prof. Dr. Khandoker Saif Uddin attended the ceremony as Expert Member. Chief Scientific Officer and Head of the ASICT Division Dr. Md. Kamrul Hasan gave a brief presentation on the overview of ASICT Division. Chief Scientific Officer of ASICT Division Dr. Md. Saiful Islam gave a brief introduction about services of the ASICT Division. Heads of the various divisions, scientists and officers were, among others, participated in the workshop.
Bangabandhu ‘Puspokanon’ launched at Shishu Niketon School
RANGPUR: The District Shilpakala Academy (DSA) launched a ‘Puspokanon’ (Flower Garden) dedicated to Father of the National Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Shishu Niketon School in the city on Thursday afternoon. Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan formally launched the beautiful ‘Puspokanon’ in a function held on the school campus by planting a sapling of flower tree in front of the academic building there as the chief guest. With District Cultural Affairs Officer Nujhat Tabassum Rimu in the chair, former General Secretary of DSA Tauhidur Rahman Tutul, Headmaster of the school Bimal Kumar Roy, it’s Assistant Headmaster Shyam Sundar Barman, attended the function as special guests. Teachers and hundreds of students of the reputed school in the divisional city, Members of its Governing Body, civil society members and local elite attended the function, reports BSS.
Traffic awareness programme held in Kishoreganj

Kishoreganj District Police arranged a colourfull rally, discussion and handbills distribution marking the Traffic Awareness Side- 2019 on Sunday in eight pourashavas and 13 upazillas of Kishoreganj. A discussion with motorcycle driving and traffic management was held at local Battola Police Box premise in the town on Sunday afternoon. Deputy Commissioner Sarowar Morshed Chowdhury attended as chief guest while Police Super Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar) in the chair. District Awami League Secretary and Special PP Adv M.A Afzol was attended as special guest. Additional SP (Promoted SP) Nazmul Islam, Additional SP Anirban Chowdhury, Additional SP Mizanur Rahman, BRTA AD Md. Faiez, District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal, CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, Transport Owners Association Convenor Lelin Rayhan, Awami League Leader Sakauddin Ahamed Rajon, Journalist Saiful Malaque Chowdhury, Saifuddin Ahamed Lenin, Ashraful Islam and Noor Mohammed were also present. Later, a colourfull rally was brought out in the town led by D.C and SP. Police Super Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar) said that without helmet and documents motorcycle will be seized.
