BRUR signs M0U with a2i

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dr. Wazed Research and Training Institute, Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) and a2i signed on Saturday at Conference Room of BRUR in the city. BRUR Vice -Chancellor Prof Dr Major Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, BNCCO and Policy Adviser of a2i Anir Chowdhury signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institution. National Mourning Day observed at Sarishabari

A discussion on the occasion of National Mourning Day was held at Sarishabari Salema Khatun Girls High School on Saturday. Among others, State Minister for Information Alhaj Dr Murad Hassan MP, former Additional Secretary Hazrat Ali ,Sanowar Hossen Badsha, President of Sarishabari Upazila Awami League, Mayor Rukunozzaman , A KM Ashraful Islam , President of Juba League ,Abul Kalam Azad Vice Chairman , Upazila porishad , freedom fighters MA Latif speaking at teachers , students and guardians were present in the meeting. Mustafizur Rahman Shahazada , President of Salema Khatun Girls’ High School Managing Committee presided over the function. Wazeda Parvin , Headmistress of the School arranged the function.
Tk 6 lakh looted stabbing trader in Sylhet

A group of suspected robbers looted Tk 6 lakh of a businessman in Sylhet after stabbing him on Thursday night. The victim was identified as Saleh Ahmad, 55, of Sagardighir Par in Sylhet. Locals said that they sent him to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital in a serious condition after rescuing him from the spot. Saleh is the owner of a mobile phone recharging shop in the city’s Ambarkhana area, they said. The victim’s relatives told reporters that Saleh was returning home by a rickshaw from his shop on Thursday night. On the way, a group of four suspected robbers in two motorcycles stopped his rickshaw after it reached Sagardighir Par area around 11:00pm and tried to snatch the money from him, they said.
One held with fake currency in Babuganj

A team of Rapid Action Battalion Unit-8 arrested one Kanchan Haoladar, 55, from Dehergati area under Babuganj upazila of Barishal on Friday.Forty-four fake currency notes of one thousand taka were recovered from the possession of the arrestee. Saidur Rahman, deputy assistant director of RAB-8, as complainant lodged a case in this connection with Babuganj police station and the arrestee sent to jail after producing before the court, said Raisuddin, additional superintendent of police and spokesman of RAB-8, issuing a press release on Friday afternoon.
